How to make a texture pack (Windows and Mac Tutorial)

Sup Peeps, its me

and today i will show you how to make a texture pack! so READ EVERYTHING AND DO EVERYTHING RIGHT :)

INSTALLATION FOR WINDOWS



1. Install Winrar http://www.rarlab.com/

2. Install Paint.NET http://www.getpaint.net/

3. go to your Windows thing in your bottom left corner

4. click on it and it will have a little search bar type in %appdata%

5. then click on .minecraft then bin then it should have the minecraft jar file right click and drag to your New folder you made

6. then it will say Extract to /test/minecraft/ click that

7. delete the meta inf then double click type so there is pictures below the folders

8. Delete all the class files

9. if you want to edit the picture thingys right click them and Open With.. Paint.NET

10. with the folders all you need to do is click on them till pictures show up then do the same thing as #9

11. When your done highlight everything in that folder then right click and click Add to archive

12. once thats done it will have a little book file that it will have you can go back to your bin go back to you reach Texture packs drag the archive in there and your done :D



Tell me if you have any problems with it



INSTALLATION FOR MAC



1. make a folder on your desktop and name it whatever you want

2. you wanna go to your main directery user thing

3. click library, application support, then find your minecraft folder, bin,

4. right click minecraft.jar click open or open it with something like winrar

5. so get everything besides the class files then drag them to your new folder

6. Open up Gimp and click File, Open then go to were ever your folder is in the menu thing to open it then click anything you want :D

7. once your done go to File, Save then quit X11

8. then open your folder at your desktop or where you saved it then select all of the items

9. then right click them and click Compress 12 items

10. then go to your .minecraft/texturepacks then drag your new texture pack in there :D

11. Enjoy!! :D

what does save x11 mean? and, when i try to compress it doesnt say '12 items' and when i drag it into the texture pack folder it doesnt show up and when i save i export it as a png file is that ok?

no but i have zipeg, which is basically thing same thing but free. oh, and btw, i have a mac, not windows.
