Have you ever wanted to make a simple map in the sky/void... but don't know how? Follow this simple tutorial and you'll be making skyblocks and builds in no time!

Part 1: Make an Empty World!
Ever since 1.9, there is now a preset for the Superflat world option. Click on this and create the world in Creative mode, with cheats enabled. You will spawn on a stone platform, this will help you build your skyblock. Make sure to get your blocks and ideas ready and scope out where you'll build... and don't drop into the void.


Part 2: Make the Skyblock!
The recommended start is to use a grass block square, or whatever shape your island will be. This allows you to get the basic area/maximum area of your skyblock/island before you fall into the void. After you have done this, make sure to make the underground/put the blocks underneath. (You may need to do /setblock ~ ~ ~, a few blocks above the stone platform to avoid running out of room for the underground/bottom). After that, populate it with a tree or two and make a starting chest. In this chest, put the starting items for your Skyblock and make sure to write a book. In this book, explain the rules, goals and idea behind your map. After this is done, playtest it. Once you are finished, clear your inventory, return the skyblock to before you tested it and stay/switch into gamemode 1/s/survival.

Part 3: Share it!
Now you can share it with your friends through Skype or other means, by zipping up your world (AppData/Roaming/.minecraft/saves) and sending the file. You can also upload the zip to a download site. If you want to show the world/minecraft community your Skyblock, post it here on PMC or in a forum site. (If you want my biased opinion, post it here! Like I did!)

Part 4: Gather Feedback and Improve!
Now it's time to make a better impression! You may get comments, replies, feedback; whatever you refer to it as. These are key to making updates, sequels or just other projects in general. These comments may be critical and state bugs/glitches, errors and personal dislikes about the map. Use this to modify your project, or make a new one to satisfy more people, by catering to another opinion. However, there's a catch, trolls. Do not listen to hate, flame or troll posts that completely attack or ridicule your project. In the end, it is up to you, it is your project and no one can change that.
