Hello everyone, my name is a1 and today I am bringing you something I have had in mind for a while. So, to get started, what makes a good build? Is it the colors the way they blend? Is it the style of the build? Well buckle up because here we go!

What makes a good build?

What makes a good build is mainly the viewers opinion, yet we minecrafters seem to have a relatively same building style. Even though there are many different building styles, and different styles within those styles, there are a unspoken rules that all minecraft architects follow.
  1. Make the blocks flow. If you have a red wool block, coal block, and dirt block building, it wont attract all of those diamonds you are hoping for. (Just saying)
  2. Depth. What is depth? Well I will get into that later but basically if you just have a straight wall, it also wont be the prettiest building on the block.
  3. K.I.S.. Also known as keep it simple. If you have all this crazy madness, it will look like it sounds, crazy madness. (Unless that is what you are going for, but who HONESTLY does that)

Block flow.

What is block flow? Block flow is really what it sounds like, it is blocks flow together in hippy harmony. No, not really but it was actually a pretty close description. Block flow is where the blocks don't clash with each other and look nice with each other. Like wood planks and wood logs, or cobblestone and stone brick. What do those blocks have in common? Color. Even though it may not seem like a big deal when you are posting it on PMC, your build will attract ALOT more people if it has a nice block flow/color flow.

Depth.

What is depth? Depth is how far or close something is to you. As I said before, if you have a flat wall, those diamonds wont exactly be reeling in. But if you were to add depth to that flat wall, like pillars or columns, you might have a fighting chance in that harsh PMC world.

Inspiration.

What is inspiration? Is when you see something and go, "That is so cool! I bet I could do something like that!". Inspiration is one of the most important things in this entire list. If you see something cool in a build, or a fence redstone contraption that you think could be made into something better, don't be afraid to make it! But remember, you should NEVER steal someones work! When you do though, take an idea from someone else's build, don't forget to put there name in the credits so they get proper recognition.

That is all for me today, if you liked this, don't forget to leave a diamond!
