So I used Gimp to create my signature (but any other photo editor will suffice). Its not that hard to make a simple but good looking one! If you want to use some more advanced techniques to make your banner look better, you can look them up ,but for now, Im giving you the "what you need to know" tutorial!

Here is an example:(That also happens to be my sig):



Step 1: Make a new "blank image" the size should be width:500 Height:100 (this size looks the cleanest).





Step 2: Choose a background, make it fit your personality! Size it so it looks good stretched across the 500 x 100 space. (If you make the picture go over these boundaries, It will crop off at 500 x 100) A screenshot would make a good background!

Step 3: Your probably going to want text on your banner (maybe not though your choice). So to get a cool looking custom text (in .png format) go to this website: CoolText and make your logo (be sure to change font size to around 55)



Step 4: Fillers! Now its time to fill in the empty spaces! Add pictures that fit you! Use copy and paste (in toolbar edit > copy or edit > paste)


(I know, I know its hideous I just rushed to make a generic Banner)

Step 5: Now to get the bb code! Go to TinyPic upload your banner and copy the Direct Link For Layouts code. Paste it into the box under change forum signature under your forum profile.




TIPS

• I recommend using layers (if you know how)
  
• If you have any questions on how to do specific things in gimp comment or use google :3
  
• If you cant think of an idea for a "filler picture" try using your avatar!
  
• If your avatar as a gif, try selecting a single frame of it that you like!
