So, recently I've been doing maps (but I've only shared 1 so far: Hyrule Temple) in 1.8. But Hyrule Temple is a mutliplayer PvP, so I obviously need friends to do it with. But that's kinda tough, because it's in 1.8.
That's where I come in. I figured out how to be able to play multiplayer on snapshots!
Step 1: Go to mojang.com and scroll down until you find the snapshot you're wanting to play on.
Step 2: Scroll to the bottom of that thread. And look for "Cross-platform server jar:"
Step 3: Under that, you'll find a link; click on it.
Step 4: That'll download a server, and from there, it's all up to your server-running-skills, to make it happen. (I say that, because having a server, snapshot or not, is kind of hard to start up, and have people able to join).
(Beyond this point is just server running help in general).
Step 5: In order for the servers IP to work, you must NOT have a firewall!
Or, if you can come to one house to do it, host a LAN. It's best like that, but sometimes not fully stable. With that said, nothing snapshot related is stable!
