Most people start Hypixel SkyBlock and have no idea what to do. This series of posts is intended to fix that. This is the sixth of a tutorial series for Hypixel SkyBlock to take you from punching your first log on SkyBlock to killing your first dragon. These posts are going to be laid out in four sections. 1: The introduction; 2: The body of the post; 3: The summary and conclusion; 4: The YouTube video. Each of these posts will be released after every SkyBlock video released on my channel, so every 1-2 weeks. With that over, let’s get into it!
Today, we are talking about questing! To access the quests menu, open up your SkyBlock menu and click on the book and quill titled “Quests”. The quest we shall start with is “Marco the Artist”. To complete this quest, we need to head behind the spawn portal until you’re right in front of a house surrounded by flowers that is right in front of the mountain. Inside the house is an NPC named Marco, who prompts you to give him five rose red dye, which you can get from the poppies outside his house. When you collect any flowers from outside his house, they’ll give you Foraging XP.
Once you’ve collected the dye, talk to Marco again, and he’ll give you a spray can. We will now head to the Canvas Room via the portal to the left of Marco. You can then use your spray can to draw images on the whiteboard in front of you. Once you’ve completed your drawing, talk to Marco inside the Canvas Room, and he will inform you that at some point, you can make your own custom sprays with this room. He says in the near future, but it’s been functionless for a year at the time of writing if I’m not mistaken. You can now use the spray can on your island to put Hypixel’s custom paintings everywhere, but you have to use the required amount of dye per spray. Once you have dye, just click with the spray can, and drag your dye onto the bone meal at the bottom of the GUI. You can then select a spray to use if you have enough dye.
Now, if you have the patience, wherewithal, and an empty lobby, try for the Carpenter quest, but it is very irritating, as it involves getting a stack of wool from the sheep in the Mushroom Desert. I recommend getting some shears, putting Telekinesis on them, heading to the Mushroom Desert, and harvesting sheep by first shearing them then killing them. Usually, a lot of people are doing the same thing, so try to find a server with less competition.
Time to explore the hub! To do that, you need to find all of the locations that have their own… title? I guess? Many of the buildings in the Village apply, such as the Bank, the Auction House, the Farmer’s house, the Blacksmith’s shop… basically, a lot of commonly visited places. The Bazaar Alley also counts. At the time of recording the video, the hub had not been updated, so I skipped over the places in the village. But everywhere else remains roughly the same. So the list of places you need to visit anti-clockwise from the village is as follows: the Graveyard, the Forest, the Ruins (an old broken down castle inhabited by hostile wolves that deal a lot of damage for this stage of the game), the Mountain, the High Level (behind the Mountain, which is a plain where skeletons spawn and players can attack each other), the Wilderness (a very large forest-like biome), the Wizard Tower (a tower in the middle of the Wilderness inhabited by a Wizard who has had a broken portal for a year now), and the Colosseum (where players can fight one another in an arena and is the only major structure moved around in the Hub Update).
Before I end this tutorial, let’s head back to the Wilderness to meet Tia the Fairy. She is at a pond in the center of the Wilderness, and she asks for us to find the “souls of her fallen sisters” and bring them to her for stat boosts. For every five that you find, she will give you a permanent stat boosts. The souls themselves look like rainbows hidden all over SkyBlock. There are over 200 of them, so I will not make a tutorial on finding them, as there is a much better resource out there; Dino-Pack and MurdleMuffin’s Hypixel SkyBlock spreadsheet. I am a collaborator on there, and I created the fairy soul list myself. Here is the link: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1gIwx6bNn3FUub0sZYE2sYE7t7XV74BccpoJ9Vs5aKpA/edit#gid=1436645956. There are also videos on the internet, but if you want the exact coordinates, please check it out, and show Dino-Pack some love on the forum post: https://hypixel.net/threads/general-skyblock-spreadsheet-by-dinopackyt-and-murdlemuffin-3-mod-emeralds-d.3004850/.
Finally, we are going to talk to Pat and Rick. Pat is in the house in the Graveyard, and he sells gravel and flint. He prompts you to find Rick, who is at the back of the Spider’s Den. To find, him, find any ravine in the back of the Spider’s Den that has gravel littered about in it. Try to follow the caves to these coordinates: -330/70/-235. Once you find him, he will ask for two iron ingots and will make you a Promising Shovel, which will gain levels of efficiency for every certain amount of blocks that you break with it. While you’re here, I recommend mining gravel until you have enough for a minion, as it’s a pain to come back.
That’s it for this blog! In the next one, I will cover something else, which I'm not sure about yet. If you liked this, leave a diamond on top, and if you want, watch the video below, subscribe to my YouTube channel, and leave a like. It would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
