How To Reduce Lag in 1.5!

OPTIFINE:

It gives you a huge variety of video setting that vanilla didn't give.
OptiFine doesn't need ModLoader, if you were wondering, and it counts as a Mod.
And yes, OptiFine is 1.5
It also gives quite a bit of FPS.
DOWNLOAD IT HERE

EASIER WAY THAN GETTING OPTIFINE:

  1. Go into your Options option
  2. Go into Video Settings
  3. Click on Clouds setting and turn them off
  4. Click on Particle setting until it says 'Minimal'
  5. Click on Render Distance until you get the least lag you want or can get.

Also, to see if your computer can run Minecraft:
Can you run it?

Then click:
cbfeccedpng
It detects your software and says the minimum requirements.
If it says your system hardware can run it, the background color of the driver section will be green.

Hope it helped!

It counts as a Mod.
You put the files in your minecraft.jar which you can access by doing the following
1. Press the start button
2. Search in the Start Menu search bar: "Run" (without the quotation marks)
3. When the Run program comes up, click it and search: %appdata%
4. When in the Roaming folder, you click on the .minecraft folder
5. Click on the Bin folder in the .minecraft folder.
6. Right click on the minecraft.jar file, and hover over 'Open with...'
7. Click on the "Open with Winrar Archiver"

Those steps were if you didn't know how to install mods.
