First, I think we all tell ourselves " a server not a business it a server?!?". Well that true obviously ,but you run a server just like you would run a business. You have a target market, products, promotions, and keep up. There is also a lot more steps to making a business but I think these we can compare these to a server the best. Many server fail because simply they don't have experience or just don't have a clue how to manage it. Now i'm not saying this is the only way but it is a way I would choose over the others.

First, let me explain what the definition of target market is for all who don't know what that is." A target market isa group of customers that thebusinesshas decided to aim itsmarketingefforts and ultimately itsmerchandisetowards"http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Target_market. So when starting a server you can apply your target market to gamers. Gamers is what we would call our customers. We will get in detail on what your product would be in the next paragraph.

Now we move onto your product. Your already asking "how am I going to sell product on my server?" Here the answer for that, the product your selling is your server. Now nobody will be buying your sever with cash but they will be buying into your server. When I say that I mean they liked your server so much they want to play on it. Your product also can be what type of server you make. There are two ways you can figure out what type of server your going to make. You can make the server what you want it to be. For me it would be roleplay. Or you could do market research, which is any organized effort to gather information about markets or customers. One way of doing this making a poll and posting it on planet minecraft. This way you can figure out what type of server is the best to start. In the end I would think it would be a fraction server but I haven't done my market research so I wouldn't know.

Next, we will talk about promotions for your product. If your confused on what this means, well it just advertising. You can't think that people are going to join your server if you don't promote it. You should not worry about this though cause everybody advertise there server. Now hang in there a second though cause it not if you advertise but how you advertise. Many people just get on planet minecraft and advertise once and then think there server going to be full (unless it has like 4 slots lol). You can not just advertise once but you need to advertise many times. Example A business would not be here if they never advertise. Also a business would never grow and expand if they didn't advertise everyday on your television. People don't ever listen to the advertising but after them seeing it time after time they finally get curious and try it out. So if you stay focused on what your doing and keep advertising you will have customers.

Lastly, you need keep up in your business. This simply means to stay up to date on advertising, making your product better or enhancing it, and keeping up with your target market. This is how many business can fail. The most important keep has to be your target market. This is because if you figure out what your target market wants then you figure out what product you need then your know what you want to advertise and your keeping up with your business.

You cant run a successful business with out these four key components. You have to know your target market. You need a great product nobody never seen. You need great advertising for your product.
