Have you ever felt like you couldn't last for five minutes in minecraft wasted? Well then this is the tutorial for you! Like everyone once was, I was a "noob" at minecraft wasted. Because I was new and didn't know how things worked I died in about fifteen seconds upon each spawn. Then I figured out the secret to surviving that works most of the time!
General rules/ On the Offence:
A. Scout:
If you find a town (or spawn at one) that you are not familiar with, go to the outskirts of it and , while crouching, slowly survey the area. If there is a vantage point (Mountain) and you think you can make it without being spotted go ahead and go there to get a bigger glimpse of the town.
B. Stay away from cities!:
Just like in the "zombie survival guide" by Max Brooks (I will be quoting this reference alot) stay away from cities unless you have to. Cities are full of bandits, and are easy to get lost in.
C. Have a plan:
Don't just go off randomly in one direction after raiding a town, you need a game plan. If you just wander you may find yourself starving to death, or get jumped by the Socs (outsiders joke.)
D. If you have a group KEEP CONSTANT CONTACT!!!:
I can't stress this enough. There have been many situations where I have tried joining a squad with someone who can only talk in-game chat, and in about ten seconds died because he couldn't tell me there was a and I quote "gang" in the building we were raiding. If you all have steam, use voice chat to talk to each other, there are also TONS of other websites and programs to help you talk to your group.
For the defense:
A. Know your town:
See "Scout"
B. Know your fortress:
There are many ways to upgrade your house or building to suit your needs:
1. Tunnels:
My personal favorite, simply place down at a major choke-point at your building, when someone comes through there to invade, jump in and they are basically trapped!
2. Walls:
Unless your building has damage dealt to it and can be breached, don't try to make a maze or make your base look "cool" walls are mostly used for repair and quick defense.
3. Turrets:
Just hop in and mow your invaders down.
4. Bunkers and Sniper's Roost:
Only use these if your base is large and hard to maneuver in. Otherwise you may be trapped in your own base, and shot down
