Ok, so even though there haven't been many recently, if you actually search up How to build an awesome house" or "How to get popular on PMC", you will find a lot of satire blogs. If you read my Interview with Colfetters/How to build a good house,(you probably didn't) then you know one of the reasons I'm starting my building series is because I feel there's a lack of actually helpful building tutorials on PMC. The main reasons are that they all are very short or lack detail, are a step-by-step tutorial on how to build some house, or are, drum-roll please... Satire.

So, if you don't know what satire is, to put it simply it's sarcasm, but used to make a point. Also, Satire is specifically in writing or media, not while talking or having a conversation. That's called sarcasm. Also, here's the dictionary definition if you really want it. (Your welcome)

the use of humor, irony, exaggeration, or ridicule to expose and criticize people's stupidity or vices, particularly in the context of contemporary politics and other topical issues.

So, what's my issue with satire blogs? You can probably see I have an issue, as I don't make blogs where I go fanboy or compliment something, criticizing things is much more fun. But, back to what I was saying, my main issue is the fact that it really doesn't take effort to do this, plus they're not helpful. Anyone can write a satire blog on how to get popular. As an example, let me show you what most satire blogs amount to:
Spoiler - click to reveal
How to get Popular on PMC

1. Upload a teen skin
2. make sure it has a creeper hoodie, this is very important.
3. Title it, "I'm leaving PMC"
4. Bring in the XP!

I can understand one or two of these types of blogs per category, but there's just so many of them! After a while these just become obvious and repetitive. But most of all, my main complaint is that this takes so little skill. I don't need to know anything about skinning to write a satire blog, I just need to know that teen skins, spamming, and leaving PMC posts are bad. You don't have to be a master skinner to know that.

Now my second complaint ties in with my first comment about why I'm stating a build tutorial series: They're not helpful. I was looking for blogs to help me become a better builder, because at that point I was completely out of inspiration and motivation, and I seriously felt my building was not good enough. (Definitely my lowest point in building, plus I hold myself to a pretty high bar, which usually I don't achieve.) So there I was, searching on PMC, for even a glimmer of hope or knowledge, hoping to make myself a better builder. And then I stumble across all these satire blogs.

Hint: It didn't help me.

Sure, it might give you a good chuckle and reaffirm your belief that spamming and teen skins are terrible, but after that, are you any better off? Did you learn a new way that you can shoot for the top, or that you can improve your shading or build detailing? No. At least I never did. If you ask me, the point of a tutorial is to help people, and all these satire blogs really don't help. So if you're planning on making a tutorial, maybe don't make it a satire one.

Quick news flash that I'm sure you don't care about:

So, I'm working on part three of my How to Build series, hopefully I'll be uploading that soon after this one. So, stay tuned for that, and check out the other blogs in that series if you haven't already.

And second, I made a collection of all the great blogs I've read over my time on PMC. Feel free to read them, and enjoy! Great Blogs to Read

Thank you. I'm new to checking out the blog/article section of this site but I'm disappointed at the lack of quality content. Most new stuff is just promotions for servers and YouTube channels which is really annoying to sift through.
Agreed, what sucks is that the blog section is my favorite section to go through because of all the great blogs that were written in the past.

But, it does make it easy to get attention here though, if your the only good writer out of 20 active ones, you'll get a lot more attention. I always hear how most people say how hard it was for them to get popular, but for me my third blog was already pretty popular. (relatively speaking, the blog section gets very little diamonds.) I'm sure if some random writer with good content started uploading consistently, they'd get popular fast.

Some of those blogs at least help in understanding what not to do but yea there is a need for more helpful blogs especially about how to build so I am looking forward to the next one of yours!
Thanks! It's almost done, I just need to revise it because currently it's too specific, and I want it to be more broad. My goal is to finish it this week, I really hope I can actually do that though.

Don't hesistate to do very specific blogs too in the future, I'd say we are in need of those as well.
