I can't connect to minecraft server. ): please help!

I'm very frustrated. Whenever I try to go on any server, this is what it says:

Failed to connect to the server
Java.net.SocketException: Permission denied: connect

If someone could please help me, that would be great. I can't even play on a server that me and my brother are running. And I have to pay for half of it. I think it's dumb that I have to pay for some of the server cost if I can't even get on to the server. So please help. Thanks!

I finally got servers to work! I downloaded java 7 update 5 and updated my Adobe Flash Player!

That means the server cannot connect you and removes your attempted entry and disconnects you.

I am not sure, if you just want to play privately I suggest downloading hamachi, but if you want to make it public I suggest buying a host, it can cost about $20-$60 a month depending on the size but prior to starting up your server with a host you should use hamachi to do building.

It means the server has not been set up properly.
