i just spawned into a minecraft world and went into a strange cave and when i came out i looked at a tree and saw a minecraft player he had this bloody skin and i went to go see him and all i saw was a cow anyone know what i saw? please comment if so

is it normal to find emeralds like soo close to the surface and i mean like 2 blocks away from surface
