I've been silently observing the blog section, as well as other sections of PMC, for the past six months. And you're probably thinking, "Gee, I thought you were dead or something ! Why are you suddenly writing again after almost a year?" and that question, admittedly, is a good one. But I have an answer that might be a bit surprising:
Interviews.
Interviews occur when one PMC member, usually by PMing, 'interviews' another by asking various questions like one normally would, such as, "How long have you been making ____ on PMC for?" and "How did you discover PMC?" It's a certainly simple concept, nor is there too much thought or effort that might go into it. But my concern is that, perhaps, maybe it's a bit TOO simple.
Each of these interviews, as show below, usually rack up about 60 - 80 views for, in my opinion, literally no reason. Before I continue, let me say that EVERY person is special and unique in your own way-- think about it, your gene combonation is SOLELY confined to you, and you only. You are an expeirence, and, as someone said once, make it a good one. Saying that . .
. . a LOT of interviews are extremely generic. Like, 98% of interviews ask the same questions, usually one line answers, next question, one line answer, question, one line answer, 'pls like and sub if u want more!!! :DDD;3;!!'
I'm not bashing anyone that HAS ever participated in an interviw before, for I have participated in quite a few a while back. There's nothing wrong with introducing a little info about yourself, and maybe answering the questions of the people, right? Well, if that's what you're aiming for that, let me introduce you, literally, to the Introductions section of the forums.
This bad boy right here solves all of your problems, and hey, there are a lot more people who wander through the forums rather than the blog section at some points (sometimes, 'Top 10 Minecraft Animals' just isn't good enough).
Here, you can either read introductions and short bios of other PMC members, as well as make your own, and talk with others who happen to share the same likes as you do, or just like you in general (you're probably a very lovely person; no doubt will you make friends!).
All in all, it's basically interviewing yourself, and making friends all in the same post. No fancy blog photos, no diamonds, just good 'ol fashioned talking to people who like YOU, and not just based on the dull questions some person might ask. Let me tell you, "What is ur fav skin ever" isn't really talking about yourself or who you might be as an actual human being.
With that, I leave you with this:
Are interviews really needed, like, at all? Do we need 267 interview blogs about 267 people asking the same seven questions? And for what-- 4 diamonds? More than 30 views on a single post just to call yourself a people person? Next time, instead of asking people to interview you, or asking them to be interviewed, send 'em a link to the forums! Or better yet,
Give yourself a shot at the spotlight.

I have interviewed several PMC'ers in my early days on the site (and a couple recently), and have retired from it to move on. Mainly because I realized that interviewing an already well-known PMC'er that has been interviewed several times before is pointless. Now I'm not saying that interviewing is pointless, but that it needs more variety, and better pacing & questions.
But in the end, we do what we do, and we should enjoy what we do. No matter if it's pointless, it's overall our choice.
But this is a very lovely read, and I look forward to more! :'D
Naw, it cool. Great blog. And OMG, YOU'RE NOT DEAD!!! :O
still, thank you a lot.
this isn't a popularity game, and interviews weren't made strictly so we can hear the same story of the same admin over and over and over again. the only problem with that is that usually the people interviewing do a terrible job with asking questions, and that results in pretty much useless xp gain for the poster. then again, i feel like half of the time that's what they aim for anyways.
unless someone brings up the arguement, "But what if you're banned on the forums?" Eh... people find arguements all the time.. Anyway, nice blog.
if you're banned from anything, let alone the forums, it's for fairly good reason. thanks.
