Hello Everyone~!

It's the weekend again, which means it's time for another Into the Weekend with Gemira™! This Friday's interviewee is none other than the wonderful Beverly! She is known for her kindness and being supportive towards many people in the PMC community. She's also known for her creative skins and stories. If you haven't checked her page out yet, don't forget to do so after the interview~!

My questions will be in Maroon while Beverly's answers will be in Red.

Out of all the Minecraft skins/skinning websites, why did you choose to be more active here on PMC?
I actually began skinning on the Skindex (or Minecraftskins.com), and I noticed that a lot of my friends and inspirations were moving to some website I'd never heard of, called Planet Minecraft. c; I decided to check it out and fell in love with the variety, creativity, and sense of strong community, so I made this account (my original name was Ethereality, lol). Probably though two of the biggest aspects that drew me here were the community and the level of moderation.
I absolutely agree on the variety, creativity, and sense of strong community that PMC has. If I was asked to recommend a Minecraft-related website, I'll definitely recommend PMC. Oh and Ethereality is a very lovely name! (^_^)

Like other skinners, did you find it difficult to come up with your own shading style?
Yes, indeed. I came in relatively late to the skinning game, a long time after such prodigies as Oblivion, Felinka, and LIL_Danica, who had astronomically beautiful styles. My shading style now is mainly inspired by Lovelylisa123 and Untaken. :) (Love ya, ladies; thank you. c: ♥)
I love how you called them prodigies! :D But to be honest, your shading style is one of the most unique ones that I have seen. ♥

Considering that all of the skins you made are in Alex model, could you tell us what you like about that model?
In my opinion, the Alex model better suits the other proportions (torso, legs, and especially head) of a Minecraft skin. Also, my current shading style would be very difficult to modify for the four-pixel arms of the Steve model.
I do prefer using the Alex model for the same reason (when I make skins sometimes). But I prefer the Steve model when I'm making renders because I find it easier. (^ω^)

What did you find interesting about Minecraft that got you to play it?
I think what's most interesting about Minecraft for me is the nearly endless possibilities for creating. You can try to build anything from Isengard (The Lord of the Rings) to the simplest, yet most elegant house. I really love that concept. It's a little like an upgraded version of LEGO, only a hundred times better. ;) (My personal favourite project thus far has been building the interior of the USS Enterprise-D from Star Trek: The Next Generation. x3)
As I said in my previous interviews, Minecraft is the most creative game I've ever played! There are just so many things to do in the game like builds, mods, and commands. And I didn't know you like building interiors. :O It must have been challenging!

If you were to add a new dimension in Minecraft, what dimension would it be and why?
Mmm, that's a hard one! O.O Some modpacks for PC/Mac versions have already done this, but I would definitely add a dimension for space exploration. Players could build shuttles and starships and venture through a huge variety of planets, moons, and other things, discovering new races and new materials, and potentially unlocking new quests and such-like. (Yes, I know that sounds like an adventure map, lol.)
I recall seeing a mod like that but without the quests and discovering new races. But I like your idea! It will be an awesome adventure map! :D

Have you experienced roleplaying in Minecraft before? If so, what's the genre of the roleplay that you did?
If you mean roleplaying in-game, no, I've never done that. I actually got into roleplaying here on this site; I do it via PMs with my fiancé and some really close friends. :) ♥ I enjoy most genres of roleplaying but I think my favourites definitely tie in science fiction and fantasy, preferably blended.
I've also never tried roleplaying in-game as well. But I would like to create a fantasy with a slice of mystery roleplay in the future~!

Is there something in particular about the Star Trek character, Beverly Crusher, that you really love?
Oh goodness, don't get me started! xD First off, Beverly has resolve and drive; she's spunky and sassy, but she still has a softer side that has empathy, compassion, and love. She's come through a really, really rough past but hasn't let it define or weaken her now, if anything she's standing in its face defying it. I just love that. (And let's face it, the girl is literally the most beautiful thing I've ever seen! ;D ♥)
She sounds like a very inspiring person! Much like you! :D

I've noticed that you are one passionate writer and surely, you have experienced writer's block. What is/are your way/s of overcoming it?
(Oh my, thank you! ♥) I've found that having several different writing projects going on at once can be helpful, so that if I hit a stalemate in one, I can always continue working on something else. Taking breaks from writing altogether can also be good, but if I let the project be ignored for too long I rarely ever return to it, even months or years later. :/ My most recent solution to writers' block though has been writing poetry, both free-verse and otherwise. Usually what causes my writers' block is feeling like there is a chasm between my emotions and communication, and poetry helps form a bridge to connect the two so that writing flows more smoothly for me.
Wow, you have a unique way of overcoming writer's block! I might consider trying that out rather than taking a break from writing and then not continuing it at all. That has happened to me a couple of times. xD

How do you come up with unique names for your OCs like Calluna and Caliensi?
Ahh, that's another tricky one! :P I actually collect names and their meanings, especially exotic/foreign names (as many of my writings are in the fantasy/sci-fi genre). In addition to that, I occasionally take actual words and tweak them slightly to form names (for example, "Caliensi" was actually from the Spanish word calíente, meaning "hot"; as the character Caliensi wields fire as part of her magyk).
That's so cool! I've never thought of tweaking words into names before. Probably because I never knew it could be done. xD "Magyk" literally made my day~! (^ω^)

If you were to describe yourself using a Minecraft biome, which biome would it be and why?
Ah, that would likely be the Roofed Forest/Dark Oak Forest biome. Not only do I love the colour of the wood found there, but I enjoy the subtly ominous feel of the biome, with it being closed-off from sunlight and somewhat labyrinthine. ;)
I love the color of the Dark Oak wood too! I called it the "Chocolate wood" because it reminds me of chocolate. xD

Is there anything you would like to say to your subscribers and to your inspiration/s?
O-oh my.. well, I would have to say that don't judge yourself or let yourself be judged simply because there is something "different" about you- and that can be as simple as making "non-teen" skins to something as severe as having a mental issue. I know it's really hard to stand up under it. I know it's hard to ignore the people who harass and threaten you. But please remember not one word of theirs is truth. You are perfect and wonderful exactly the way you are; you have so much ahead of you, so much hope and love and laughter and good times. :) Each one of you has unique traits and personalities and abilities that no one else has and never will have. They belong only to you. You have the keys to your world, and the door is waiting for you. ♥

This is, by far, the most detailed and inspiring interview that I have done and I have the wonderful Beverly to thank for that. Thank you so much Beverly for letting me interview you and for your skin on the thumbnail above. Please check her page, her skins, and her stories out and don't forget to subscribe to her as well~!

I'll see you guys in the next interview~!

Please do not copy and paste all of the questions from my interviews and use them on yours. Do not copy my trademark and you are not allowed to use my thumbnails in any way. Also, please do not copy the style of my interviews and do not ask to be interviewed. Lastly, please ignore all negative comments, spams, and salty suggestions. Thank you.
