Hello! I've had a long hiatus from this site, totaling 3 years. During those years, a lot has changed, both on this site and in my life. I'm here to talk about a certain fandom...the My Little Pony fandom.
As you may well know, the more recent series, "Friendship is Magic", has garnered a lot of fans, both male and female. While I can definitely confirm that the people in the fandom I've met are kind and good people, there is a lot of hate that goes out. Specifically the "Brony" side.
I am here today to fight hate with one phrase: "It's just an opinion."

What Is A Brony?
A "Brony" is nothing more than a male individual who finds MLP:FiM entertaining/fun. That's it. I will repeat: a Brony is simply a male person who enjoys MLP:FiM. Nothing else.

Fandom Cringe?
No! The vast majority of the MLP fandom is not cringe! I can attest to that myself, 8 of 10 people I met(male and female) were all very welcoming and friendly!
Unfortunately, most people only hear of the "Dark Side" of the fandom - the NSFW side. It's sad, that a very vocal minority has essentially destroyed any positive opinions about the fandom.
Just talk to a member of the fandom! They are among the nicest people I have ever communicated with on the Internet! You will see that it is but a small minority, with lungs of steel, who are giving you a tainted view of this fandom.

B-But this is a show meant for little girls?!
We GET that! But you know what? We don't care! It is an opinion and nothing more! Let's go into an opposite example: a lot of females I've met enjoy Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, a show aimed at a male audience. So why can a male not like a show meant for females if females can like shows meant for males?

Conclusion
As I said, the one thing you need to think about is that..it's just an opinion! Get over yourselves. The Internet would be much less toxic if you just let go if your self-entitlement and accepted people for what they like!

When Did You Join The Fandom?
I considered myself a 'brony' when I registered on an MLP forum, that was April 2017. However, I didn't actually become active until July that same year because I was still nervous and uncertain about being a brony.
Why Did You Join The Fandom?
I wanted to be part of all the excitement, art and friendliness of the Brony community. The show is amazing, and the fans make it all even more amazing!
How Has Your Experience In The Fandom Been So Far?
It's been bittersweet. People are people. The fandom is not perfect, and it has its share of well, mean spiritedness and ordinary human follies. However, it is the most friendly and supportive fandom I've ever been in, and as someone said to me recently, 'the good, friendly ones vastly outnumber the hateful ones'. And that's certainly true.
Have you found the majority of members are kind, good people, or unkind and entitled people?
The vast majority of the fans genuinely want to make friends, be kind, and create art. They want to feel the magic that is friendship, and share it. However, many are shy, and it just takes some time to get to know them. Once they open up, you really see how wonderful they are! I've seen quite a few quiet and shy fans turn into the life of the party after they feel comfortable with the rest of us. It's really amazing to see such innocent and beautiful expressions of compassion and joy come out and lighten up everyone's day.
What Are The Top Two Reasons You Continue To Participate In The Fandom?
1) I have made very good friends. Even if the show disappears, we will still be friends...and probably still talk about ponies.
2) It's a lot of fun! The music and art are still alive and well. Bronies are here to stay.

I love this fandom! Everyone is so friendly and awesome and almost all of the ponies are awesome! Sonic is the only thing that beats it for me!

Almost everyone on here is super friendly and awesome! I love this site and I love MLP!

Because I saw all the interesting stuff the fandom was making and wanted to join in on this new show I now loved.
How Has Your Experience In The Fandom Been So Far?
Pretty good. The fandom has certainly had its ups and down along the years, but overall it's been a pretty inviting and nice place. I've made plenty of friends because of this fandom, afterall.
Have you found the majority of members are kind, good people, or unkind and entitled people?
Yes, I would say the majority of members are kind and good people. There will always be that small group of people who take it too far or ruin it for everyone else, but for the most part, the fandom is a very inviting place.
What Are The Top Two Reasons You Continue To Participate In The Fandom?
One, I still enjoy the show even now and two, I have far too many good memories I've made because of this fandom. As I've said, I've made several friends because of this fandom, which is more than a good enough reason to stick around for the foreseeable future.

Why Did You Join The Fandom?
Honestly I joined the fandom after I watched a bunch of the fan made stuff on YouTube such as pony.mov and stuff like that then I decided to watch a episode to see what the regular show was like and I ended up watching a whole season that night
How Has Your Experience In The Fandom Been So Far?
Great actually people are nice, a lot of cool projects people are doing, and it’s just a generally positive fandom to be in
Have you found the majority of members are kind, good people, or unkind and entitled people?
Everyone I’ve talked to do far are kind and generally good people I don’t think I’ve met a single member that were negative or unkind to anyone
What Are The Top Two Reasons You Continue To Participate In The Fandom?
Well number one reason obviously being I love the show and the second reason would be it’s almost like a safe haven for me whenever I feel sad or down I just come back to the fandom and it’s hard not to be positive!

Around mid-2011, after the first season had been concluded. Been enjoying since nearly the beginning, heh.
Why did you join the fandom?
A friend of mine kept spamming me the same video over and over, which happened to be the first half of the very first episode of FiM. I broke down and gave it a watch then immediately got the entire first season. Found a neat message board with other fans and joined.
How has your experience in the fandom been so far?
Pretty good so far. Sure, there's been some drama around but that's everywhere and it's not a reflection of the fandom as a whole. Overall, my experience has been very positive and the only thing I have to complain about are the ignorant haters.
Have you found the majority of members are kind, good people, or unkind and entitled people?
For the most part, I've met some really great people over the years I've been around. I've run into a few jerks but they're definitely not the majority.
What are the top two reasons you continue to participate in the fandom?
I still like the show for one thing and there's some good people around. I don't intend to stop participating any time soon.
