Good afternoon, ladies and gents. I am here to talk to you about one of the most under-appreciated forms of Minecraft creativity: the lost art of crafting banners and shields. Ah, but I see that confused look on your face. Well, allow me to clarify my statements, for this is not an easy dilemma to explain. You see, while a ton of banners may enter PMC's vast collection, many do not get the recognition that they so deserve, inevitably getting lost in the wave of submissions like a dollar bill caught in a strong wind. But I am not one to allow such a craft to succumb to its horrible fate. In this blog, I shall display the works and my fellow artists on this blog, holding them in a place of honor where all members of PMC can observe them. But as of now, I will just display my favorite banners I have created and I will say a bit about just to keep it interesting. So without further ado, I present The Lost Designs gallery, where you can experience the shields and banners that history almost forgot.
My Zygarde
My Lapras
Alright, this way one of the first banners I was ever proud of. It was based off an old Pokémon card I had as a kid. I still have that card, it's actually sitting on my dresser. Anyway, the scene depicted on the card shows a Lapras just cruising through the ocean, enjoying the serenity of a setting sun. It just seemed so peaceful, I even wished I could just join the creature in this lax state. I imagined myself lounging back on its shell, riding the waves with not a care in the world.
My Zygarde
This is my most view banner, with over 1, 200 views, and that's impressive for a banner. When I made it, even I was impressed by how good it looked. It was actually just the result of me messing around with all the patterns in PMC's Banner Creator. Another thing you'll notice about my early banners is that they are all copies. The reason for this is that I made banners anonymously before I decided I wanted credit for my creations. That's literally the reason I joined PMC. I just wanted credit for something that got me zero experience or credit. Amazing, right? Yeah, I didn't think so.
Sky Wolf Banner
Ok, I have no idea why this banner didn't receive any popularity. I mean, it looks just like a jumping wolf, right? That's not just me, is it? Either way, it just looks so cool and it's perfect for clans. Also, I really like wolves, so just throw me a bone here. Yeah, just pretend I never said that.
Ultramarine Banner HD
Ok, this banner is probably my most-liked banner, but I think it might be for the wrong reasons. I can tell since when people "edit" my banner, they name it something that doesn't pertain to Warhammer 40K. If you've ever heard of Warhammer 40K, then you probably know of the Space Marines, the bio-enhanced super soldiers that fight the battles in the name of the Emperor. This banner is for the Favored Sons, the Ultramarines, who are probably the only Chapter you've heard of. Personally, my favorite Chapter are the Space Wolves, but it's kinda hard to make a banner for them.
Chainsword
Ok, here's another Warhammer 40K banner, isn't everyone excited? Probably not. But since I wasn't able to create the Space Wolves insignia, I made the signature weapon of one of their greatest warriors: Sven Bloodhowl's chainsword. This banner was made to kick off a banner contest I set where contestants had to make a banner of a certain theme. This one was weapons. However, there was no winner since we didn't have enough people participating. But a least I have a cool banner now.
Well those are just a few of my banners, but I would to add a few banners from your collections in order to liven up this gallery. Also, feel free to share a story or explanation behind the creation of your banner, as It really helps your work stand out. If you feel like you're ready submit share the banner in the comments below and tell me a brief summary about it. Well, see you in the next blog!
