Jerry just stood there, staring off into oblivion. Who knows what he was thinking? Was he thinking about something lighthearted like chocolate, or was he contemplating something much darker?
She stared at the creature, her face almost as expressionless as his. Was it going to move? It looked like it could pounce at any moment, and yet it didn't. It just continued to be Jerry.
Suddenly, she heard a loud rocket noise. She jumped, but the creature didn't flinch. It just stood there being Jerry. She looked out her window to see what had caused the sound, but only saw her yard.
Wait a moment, there was something very wrong about her yard. Everything was covered in white, fluffy clouds. She seemed to have been blasted up into the sky, but how high was she? Well, obviously she was no lower or higher than cloud level, but where exactly is cloud level?
Although, perhaps, that explained Jerry? He was a dragon, after all, and he had wings, so surely he could fly... right?
She turned around, and looked at the creature. Surely it was harmless, right? She started walking slowly towards it, but it didn't move a muscle. It seemed to have become very fond of that one patch of wall that it was staring at.
She looked in the same direction that it was looking, hoping to find some kind of insight into what was going on. Maybe if she stared long enough, like Jerry, she would be able to unlock some kind of strange secrets. So she stared. And she stared. Then she blinked. Then she stared.
Then, it struck her. The wall... is a wall. A wall of a house. Then she realised something else. She looked at Jerry's face for a bit, then realised he wasn't blinking. The creature was completely motionless. If you hadn't been able to hear its slow, shaky breathing, then you'd think it was a statue.
But it was alive, and she knew it.
So she stared at the wall again, clearing her mind of everything except the wall. She tried hard to avoid blinking, and after a few minutes, she realised...
She could really do with some chocolate right about now.
