It was a stormy night. Lightning cracked in the trees, as the fences swayed side to side. The house was shaking, the basement flooding. It was the biggest storm I have seen during my lifetime.

I, Jim, am a housecat. Just a classic orange tabby. I was always snuggling with my owners, having no worries until the storm.
I one day woke up with my owners... deceased in the basement due to the storm. I started shivering, due to the water and the sight of my owners laying there in an empty room. "Why?" I said to myself. "Why must it be like this?" As soon as I said that, like an answer, the wind picked up, making most loose bricks fly loose. Hanging on to a hole in the wall, I tried to stay in the house. However, the hole was on a loose area of the concrete floor, causing me to get carried away. I crashed onto a roof and fell. The last thing I saw before I went unconscious was a dog who looked like a german shepard.


"Hey."
It was a deep voice, commanding, almost. Yet it gave me a sense of calmness, knowing I wasn't alone.
"Get up."
As my vision focused, I saw a german shepard- the same one I saw before going unconscious. "Who are you?" I asked as I got up.
"My name's Cooper. Yours?"
"Jim. How'd I get here?" I asked, rubbing my head. "I dragged you here. After seeing you lying on the ground, I decided to bring you to safety. This is where I live."
"...Here?" I asked. It was in an old shack, almost collapsing.
"Well, at least used to be. After the storm..." He drifted off.
"I understand. Well, there's no use in standing around. Let's see if we can find some water, food, and a place to rest."
Cooper and I started searching the area, but there wasn't much. After a few hours, we decided to put together what we found, and saw we only had a few food items and a small glass of water.
"Oh no..." Cooper said suddenly. "We've got bigger problems now."
"What are you talki-" That's when I saw it.
A bigger cloud heading our way.
