OK, so many of you guys who read this know I make some mods right? Well, I haven't been coding for a couple weeks because of school and such, (also procrastination takes over at some point D:). But when I do make/update a mod, I take time to make it very original, and put effort into the description. Then I browse the mods and I see junk like this:
Example #1
Example #2
Example #3
(Nothing personal against the makers, just don't like repeats/effortless posts)
Example #1:
Herobrine mod clone, tiny description using exclamation marks to fill the character count, and despite all this:
1,636 Downloads IN THREE DAYS!!
Example #2:
Edits the base classes of every block it affects which is a HUGE no-no for mod makers, as incompatibilities are greatly increased. It is one more example of a lackluster description, and is a mod that affects something that Mojang set for a reason: the durability of blocks. Also, how many softer obsidian mods are there again? That's what I thought.
Example #3:
Whoa! Sweet! New features that have never been added before! New plants? Wow, that must have taken awhile to code all that generation! No base classes edited? Great! An informative video and somewhat fulfilling description (that could have used a little polishing)? This is the picture of what should be created and shared with the community. This must have at least several hundred downloads, as yet another herobrine mod gets 1,600+! No! This mod gets 93 downloads. Wow.
Hopefully you learned something from this post: if you upload something, please make it original and put time into it! If you view something, rate it fairly for originality and quality, not just some repeat that was sloppily written.
Thanks, -zerfgog
