It's set. Time to launch.

Liberty Minecraft's New World launches on August 31st at 12pm GMT.

The New World is a Survival Minecraft server on "Normal" Difficulty which implements private property, self ownership, commodity money, and trade all using smart contracts which are optional for the players. One rule binds our players: Resolve nonviolent disputes nonviolently.

Game Version: At launch, Liberty Minecraft's New World will be running Minecraft 1.13.1 which is the latest version of Minecraft.

The World: An unexplored frontier; untouched and finite. At 7000 blocks on a side, the New World has a surface area of 49 km² which is roughly the size of Manhattan Island, New York.

Self Ownership: Players are protected by default from attacks by other players. Type /pvp off to disable server protections. Type /pvp on to re-enable them. You are free to engage in mutual combat with others who disable these protections.

Money: A Diamond Exchange will be created at Spawn where you can split Diamonds into $10,000 cash. All Diamonds that exist in the world must be mined or discovered by our players. Therefore, all money is commodity money produced by you.

Private Property: Claim Blocks may be purchased for $100 each. One Diamond will buy you 100 claim blocks. Players must be active to have their property secured by the server. Inactive players will hold their kingdom for 60 days, after which their land claims will expire. I promise to secure your property if you use our claim system. Unclaimed land is my unprotected property. You are welcome to use it and claim it with claim blocks. There are several forms of property available which are detailed here.

Trade: ChestShops are available to offer a secure means to trade. ChestShops which are placed on your land claims will be protected.

Real Estate: As promised I have invested your donations to solve a technical problem with GPRealEstate. In fact, we completely restored the project and then solved this technical problem. I now own the source code.

Transportation: All vanilla modes of transportation are available in The New World.

Donors: Build limits are available for Donors as in Liberty. Donors unlock cosmetic effects. Select New World Donors on our donations page to support the New World.

One Rule: Resolve nonviolent disputes nonviolently. Any player who rejects this rule is not permitted to play Liberty Minecraft. Type /rules for more information.

Terms of Use: Hacking the server is not permitted. Hackers can change the rules and permitting hacking would defeat the purpose of having One Rule. Exploits, item duplication, and xraying are also forbidden. This is simply what I want. I have taken steps to prevent each of these. So, if you're worried about whether a particular client side mod is OK you may begin with this: if it works, you can do it.

Systems are in place to block things that I do not want to happen. Anti-cheat blocks exploits such as creative mode flying, fast block breaking (etc.). To prevent one form of item duplication I have claimed the End Portals. Anti-xray has been produced for PaperMC 1.13.1 with our financial support.

Some of you love using client mods. No problem. When exceptions arise we can work through that. Players who find vulnerabilities and help me make this server a better place are valuable to me and welcome in Liberty Minecraft.

What's Left

GriefPrevention Update: Our Land claims system, GriefPrevention is currently in Alpha for Minecraft 1.13. Please be careful when using your Tridents. If you throw a Trident at protected farm animals the Trident is destroyed. This will be fixed in a later version.

Launch Plan: On August 31st, the Test World will go offline. Liberty Minecraft's New World will be open at 12pm GMT. Players are encouraged to meet up in the Old World before launch.
