Hello everyone.

I thought that, after seeing a forum post made by Skippy on our forums, that I'd write up a proper PMC introduction to LoTC - Lord of the Craft. Perhaps the largest Roleplaying server around~

Rather than just simple freebuild/survival, LoTC enforces Roleplaying as much as we can.

I joined LoTC back in September last year. After looking round for something to fill up my summer break time before I went back to university, I found LoTC just before I started...Ironic really.

When I first looked at it I thought 'Well, what have I got to loose?' not even thinking I would get accepted [The server has a whitelist application] but I really enjoyed writing it. I spent the best part of the day coming up with my characters history. Looking back at my app though, it was really bad....but it was fun!

I enjoyed my first few months on the server until I decided to apply for GM. I'd been helping on the app team for some time thanks to ShiftNative. I then got GM and soon after, Admin.

I've watched the server go through its stages, swapping maps was a big adn sad change, especially due to the RP reasoning...but I still love LoTC for everything it has.

As said already, LoTC is a roleplaying community. Don't try and join if you expect to be able to just play survival. It's a lot tougher than that.
New players panic when they realise that there is little they can do initially. You can't break blocks due to regioning and it can be quite daunting for those not used to the RP element. The trick is to mingle. Ask those around for help, as long as you ask in RP, then you are sure to find somebody that can help you.

We try and encourage people to live in pre built places. Towns and Nations for example and, we also try and enforce players to give their characters professions and skills with the custom skills plugin we have. This shouldn't be a ticket to grind stats, however. The plugin should be used as if you would be training, perhaps cooking. Learning different recepies and becoming better at something.

The roleplaying is unique to LoTC. We have a lot of history in the world, and from the previous map, Aegis. Along with everybody having their own personal characters, there is so much variation on the RP avaliable, all you have to do it look for it.
