Because Star used her ancient ninja technique of nagging. This is simply a compilation of the styles that I have used over my time on PMC, all work for a separate purpose and you will need to experiment to get them right

Layered

This is the simplest of the shading styles in idea, but looks extremely professional when used right. However this style requires the largest amount of shades, I will be using eight for this, however depending on the length of the hair you may need more or less. This style due to it using more shades than others is especially useful on low contrast shading.

First of all you will need to open your skin and draw the base outline of your hair, how this tutorial Io ll be doing a hatless, basic male hair shape

ZTOcVgpng

Then you will take the darkest shade and line the bottom of the hair, you may also wish to create certain bumps or two pixel high o towerso however they are not essential with this style unless there are large flat area. These give the skin a bit more detail

Then take the second darkest shade and apply it above the darker shade

XedPopng

Then continue like this until you have used up all your shades, note that you will need a little practice to make sure the top of the head lines up with the other parts of the head

And done, a detailed and fancy looking style without any need for expertise

Layers Basic

This is a related style to the above however it is suited to more basic skins and requires six shades.

First of all you will need to open your skin and draw the base outline of your hair, how this tutorial Io ll be doing a hatless, basic male hair shape

ZTOcVgpng

Firstly you will take your darkest shade and once again go over the base of the hair

LLzVyscpng

Then you take your second shade and go over the bottom outline. However this time you shall go two pixels high instead of just one

YEprjhpng

Then continue going up by 2 with your shades until the hair has been filled up and you have run out of shades

And taadaa! A simple and quick shading style for your skins

Full Shading

The final technique is one that gives the layered look but also a gleam on the sides of the head and the top.

First of all you will need to open your skin and draw the base outline of your hair, how this tutorial Io ll be doing a hatless, basic male hair shape

ZTOcVgpng

Then you will take the darkest shade and line the bottom of the hair, you may also wish to create a bump or two.

Then continue using up your shades until you have run out in the same style as the advanced layer shading from before

cLElPApng

Once you have used up your shade simply start going up except using your dark colours this time until you have filled in the entire area

vJJzvhTpng

And done, a nice style that gives the best of layered shading then some more

Stripe Shading

The shading style I am currently using, it is a very easy to use style that can be used for long hair and fabrics as well.

First of all you will need to open your skin and draw the base outline of your hair, how this tutorial Io ll be doing a hatless, basic male hair shape

ZTOcVgpng

Firstly take your darkest shade and place a pixel every second spot, once again you may wish to place bumps here and there

vEdjbpng

Then go over the entire bottom with your second darkest shade, and you may wish to create bumps here and there again

TEPcpng

Then at the top, go over the pixels that correspond to the darker ones below. Once again you may wish to create a few bumps here and there.

kjzXwgpng

Then simply repeat with the next shade

agvpCEfpng

Then finish up with the final shade, however try to make sure that as many of the darker lines connect to the upper one

SOIaAupng

Then at the top of the head place the second darkest shade where it fits, creating two to three bumps as well

fTisUcFpng

And then simply fill in the rest of the top
