Oh boy. I did it. I made the blog on the bloody, raging battle of Macs versus Pcs. Now, this blog is a special one on Macs and Pcs. It is about which is better for Minecraft. This includes which gets better gameplay, framerate, and lots of small things that make Minecraft great. Also, please don't post in the comments about how you have a "custom" PC that runs 1000 FPS. This blog is for mainly Windows, Hps, general PCs, and Macintosh computers.
I have owned both computers and the information is based on the Windows website, the Hps website, and the Apple website. Also, lots of the info comes from me and my experience with the computers. I also want to assure that this is 100% unbiassed.

Note: I am not trying to start a rage war or get an argument going. Please don't post rage comments or anything mean. Just state your opinion in a nice voice and be done with it.

Lets kick it off with the PCs.

- Great cheap computer.
- More applications are written for them.
- Can do "almost" anything a Mac can.
- Makes a great computer all together.
- Can overheat every once in a while (laptops)
- Are very cheap computers. This means that the quality will not be fantastic. It will be "ok".
- Can be very laggy while playing Minecraft and run at around 20 fps for smaller PCs to 60 fps to better one. Now, this framerate is "ok" but it is not the best.
- Can not run many applications at once without affecting gameplay or overall speed.
- More virus' are written for PCs than Macs which means that the PC will more likely have virus'.
- Internal system is very basic. PCs have a very simple interior which makes them not the best computers for multi-tasking.
- Lots of pop ups for things happen that can be very annoying.
-Lots of wires, and can be really messy sometimes.

Now lets go to the Macs!

- Great speed, and FPS for any application.
- Easy setup with only a power cord. Just plug it in and go!
- Runs around 100 - 140 FPS on Minecraft. This is on my iMac I bought a year ago.
- Minecraft runs smoother on a Mac and can handle more things at the same time without losing performance.
- A better choice when playing Minecraft.
- Has a sleek design and is more thought out than PCs.
- Very easy to use the computer and very organized.
- Very expensive computers. Can vary between $3,000 to $8,000.
- Through my experience, about 1/5 of the programs I want to use are only runnable on PCs.( Although there are apps in Macs that allow them to run as a Windows computer as well at the same time.)

Also, before you go and say "Well, PCs are made for gaming and Macs can't play any games!" You are wrong. Macs did not focus on games much in their past years because they were busy on important things such as programming performance, display, and relatively more important things than gaming. Now, when PC users started using this as a complaint against them, they easily boosted their gaming performance far past expected standards.

So what would I pick if I had a choice?

I would definitely without second thought pick the Mac.

It offers ( in my view ) more potential, gaming performance, and much more than the PC does. It is more "personal",

well built, and effective than a PC. I had no problems with my Mac, yet I had lots with my PC. Overall, I have had a much better gaming performance with Macs than PCs. If you disagree with this, please tell in a "nice, mature, tone" why in the comments.

Thanks for reading.

I've had an iMac for 8 years now (the same one, mind you) with only 4 GB of RAM. Surprisingly, Minecraft can get anywhere from 75 - 300 FPS (75ish when fullscreen, 200ish when not fullscreen - when nothing else is open). The computer was only $700. I also have a $500 laptop (only THREE years old) that runs Windows 10 that gets only about 10 - 30 FPS (usually under 20 - also when nothing else is open). That's not only a five year difference, but also a 45 - 270 FPS difference! Don't like macOS? That's no excuse to not buy an iMac, because let's not forget that you can always get Windows 10 on one quite easily. All the people who say that PC's are the best in this thread should really stop saying "Oh, I had an iMac and it sucked!" because I'm almost positive that they have never even laid eyes on one outside of images and videos. Next time, you should really check your facts before rampaging in the comments section.
I have an 8GB RAM PC Laptop and an iMac 5k 27 In. Retina With 32Gb of ram. The laptop runs with the same FPS on minecraft, and renders in Adobe After Effects just as fast. I sold this extremely overpriced garbage computer and bought a PC that runs MUCH faster with way less ram and for 2k dollars less. (The mac was a total of 3,000 dollars w/ ram upgrades). Do. Not. Buy. A. Mac. I am warning you. Learn from my horrible experience. This article is bullshit, if you know what PC to get, you can get on that is better than apples best $4,000 dollar computers but with MANY more compatible games for a TON cheaper and better FPS. (I got an Asus G11CD i7 3.4GHz w/ 4VRAM and 16Gb of DDR4 RAM, it is beautiful!)
I have owned 3 windows laptops, a chromebook, and a macbook pro which i currently have today. Overall, if you do a little bit of terminal magic, you can get minecraft running on a chromebook, although it is kind of tricky for someone new. I would choose an intel based chrome book if you know what you are doing, because minecraft runs smooth, though it is complex to get it running.
In my opinion for this Mac Vs Pc, i would side with the mac. My mac runs better than any windows pc i have ever owned, and i get a good solid 60-120 fps.

If you are a windows user, setting up a mac is EASY as it gets, the team at apple stores will take the time to help you get your new device, whether that be iphone or mac, up and running. As for the OS, you windows users might need a day or two to get used to it, but for me, having only used chromebooks and Pc's, i adjusted fairly quickly.

Thats all i got, hope it helped

Mac is best I have a 2015 Mac book pro I have started my life on a pic but I easily changed to a Mac I would recommend a 2015 Mac book pro for a good cheap no lag computer for minecraft I am now 99.9 % Mac
The 21.5 inch iMac only cost $1,190.92 (tax included) if you live in California. And I have a pretty cheap PC so the screen is like less high-definitiony. The only good PC I have seen is REALLY expensive. $1,799 (plus tax)

I am hoping to get one soon. Thank you for the useful tips aswell. I wasn't sure to get a Mac or PC because I have always had a pc. No one in  my family owns a Mac product, so this really help me. My only problem is that my Dad is really good with computers....PC computers so I don't know how he'll feel about an iMac. He has very specific cleaning and anti-virus programs, so....
I have the same problem. I keep seeing good things about the mac but some better on pc but some better on mac. But i have seen and now know that mac ir more, powerful, no lag/viruses/gliches/freezing. But pc on the other hand has all of that bad stuff. So i ask my self why buy a pc when you will be really frustrated and mad at minecraft when ever i play. But if you like playing minecraft or any other games buy a mac for sure. But if you like games and wat good preformance and you like using programs that are on pc, or somthing you need for school. Then just get bolth. Why not i ask its not really that much money. Think about it cheepest mac right now in stores is like $1100 . And you can buy a pc that is like $400 just for you prgrames or school. BUt overall the question is witch pc or mac for minecrft. Really just get Mac you wont regret it.

Thank you code4582,
I was in doubt of wich to buy (and still am a bit) i think that mac can sometimes be a bit harder to use as I have allways used PC, but taking in consideration of what you have said, it is actually really good, one last thing I want to know is EXACTLY wich computers you have. Thank you once agian!

I am getting a new computer and I love gaming and creating high resolution digital art, and I could not decide which brad I should get and you my friend have just told me MacBook pro or air :D!
You poor soul..
I hope you have learned your lesson not to buy a mac. They are horrible for everything from graphic design to gaming. Im so sorry for you! :(

im geting a mac real soon :D im getting the brand new imac, 16 gb RAM, over 1tb hard drive, i5, and overall i love macs. i love the os itself and how clean and simple it is.
I choose macs because mine is fast, even though it is like four years old. But it's annoying trying to find programs like the ones only made on pc.
I have a OLD mac like one of the first ones that came out so I recommend the PC just because it's easier for me to control with and mac is kind of complicated (I'm not the best with computers!) So I think PC is just a little more controllable in my idea, and yes PC does have problems but mac I don't even know how to get to the .minecraft folder LOL.

I can see your point on how you have grown familiar with PCs, which is 100% fine. But just for reference the .minecraft is in

Oh derp...why didn't I think the .minecraft folder was in that place lol
Dont like macs because of how to get things to function. Im used to pc, simple.
