I wanted to see if I could find one of those "hardcore, we will kill everyone and raid you relentlessly pvp faction" Bukkit Survival servers, and I instead found "MarcCraft Survival".

When you first login, you find yourself in a super-massive dome-like structure,pretty roomy and spectacular, but where you;re standing, wooden fence cramps you in with other new people logging on. All the paths through the spawn are one block wide, restricted to wooden fences, and the paths snake to houses, shops, and the area where you can pick up builder blocks for free. That's another thing: In it's name, the server seems to be a survival, pvp server but when you log on, and go straight forward to the worlds where you can build and join factions, it becomes immediately apparent that you and everyone else can obtain all sorts of builder blocks for free, and even creative-style blocks, like Sponge and Ice. You can't obtain diamond and iron blocks for free, but you can still get iron armor for free.

It's not strictly a survival server at all-it's more of a survival-world server, with monsters and animals, combined with the extremely offset advantage of free, almost creative-style building. You can also protect your chests and doors with signs. As for the pvp part, it's almost roleplay-tuned, you can join a faction, and work your way up these "ranks", named after military ranks, Pvt., Lt., Gen., etc. by challenging other people or factions in war.

I couldn't immediately find the rules, and everything seemed kind of jumbled, however the people on at the time seemed pretty willing to answer questions and talk. I was able to learn a bit more about the server too. However: I also was able to freely use Zombe to fly around the spawn, and a few people shouted up about it but administration really didn't seem to care, if they were on.

So-overall, this server seems like it can be a lot of fun for the right kind of person, but to the general Minecraft player, most of the time, it just seems like a disorganized mess. They also constantly ask for donations to rank up, which is a big turn off in my book. Good, but could be a lot better.
