MicroSoft wasn't interested in MineCraft. They weren't even interested in Mojang's business model. What they wanted was the users. And we've been sold!

Now, it's time for us to figure out what we'll do, how we'll proceed and whether Minecraft is still worth all the time & effort so many of us have put into it.

As for me, I'm going to proceed with my plans. It'll take at least six months for MicroSoft to make decisions about Mojang's and Minecraft's future direction. If they're smart, they'll leave it alone.

But MicroSoft has a bad track record of acquiring properties and destroying them. So, plan for the best, but prepare for the worst.

Everyone is overreacting, chill out. Microsoft buying Mojang isn't as bad as you all make it out to be. Quit assuming that they will ruin the game without even giving them a chance.

I'm ok with this. This article on the official Xbox site says that
1. MINECON will continue, at least next year.
2. Minecraft will be staying on all platforms that it's currently on - including Playstation.
3. Notch will finally get a break from running Mojang to work on a new project (and possibly start ANOTHER company, or maybe he could just retire if he wants).

Also, according to Mojang's official post Here,
1) the current development will, at least mostly, be sticking with the game. Notch, Carl, and Jakob aren't working on Minecraft now anyways.
2) Microsoft and Mojang have both said that they're not interested in blocking user created content - including Videos, mods, builds and "all the cool stuff we've created over the past few years"
3) It hasn't been confirmed what will happen to Mojang's other projects (Scrolls), but it's assumable that they will also continue.

For as long as they don't touch the cost of things, I'm fine with everything they do.

onto the topic of the video and not the spelling;
I remember that comment about eula from earlyer videos, it seems you were right about this, wow how smart people were to not believe you... *Sarcasum*

"EULA curfuffle" XD haha

my my poor poor notch.... ;-; i cannot believe people would kill over a video game... no its not just a video game its more like they want his mouney...

i just wish minecon would continue, i love that idea, i love how you can meet the youtubers, if you destroy that it will cause so much anger. now i know its only gone for this year, but who knows? Microsoft could screw up minecon too, and i hate to have such little faith in my father's compuny but it might be true.

The light that you shine on the inside of mojang really makes me sad that microsoft bought them, i really hope microsoft can keep to their selvs this time.

i gues we can keep carrying on with our eyes open like you say, like you will. great point great blog, its true.

"MicroSoft wasn't interested in MineCraft" The 's' in Microsoft does not need to be capitalized, that goes for the 'c' in Minecraft aswell.

My opinion of Microsoft buying Minecraft from Mojang is that as long as we get name changes (And if they aren't free, im hoping for atleast 1 free name change) and they don't start any monthly subscriptions like they do with xbox live, then im fine with it. I would be upset if they make any game changing decisions with Minecraft but i'd either get over it or just stop playing. :P
