Hello people of PMC for this weeks very very very late report we have updates on some of our old stories and an interview to end it off. Well start of on the more recent story from South Carolina in which a group of 43 Macaques escaped a Medical Research Compound named Genesis. One of the monkeys has been recovered according to officials on Saturday and on the next Sunday 24 more of the monkeys have been recovered. On Friday the escaped monkeys had been walking near the compounds fence cooing to the monkeys still inside. And 5 more monkeys were recovered around Monday. On Tuesday two more of the Macaques were caught while they were eating some PB&J and on Wensday 3 more of the Monks were recovered. Only 8 of them remain outside and they are still exploring the fence suronding the compound.
And to continue our updates we are back with the strange white blobs from Newfoundland. A scientist from St. John’s said that he had finally figured out what the strange doughy substance could be. Many people guessed of what it could have been parafin wax, sea sponges, mould, palm oil, ambergris, parts of a whale corpse, whale mucus, whale vomit, other kinds of whale substances… But anyways no more stalling the scientist has claimed that the odd blobs were probably a butyl rubber PVA composite. You probably dont even know waht that is but its a form of pollution and it can be found in blue and nail polish coatings. If you want more details on how the scientist figured out what they were when the governments scientists couldnt check out the links below. I wonder if someone guessed that it was dried up glue or smthn they would be pretty close.
And to end this off we have an interview with Escapazition (This interview lasted basically the entire day because he was answering the questions whenver he had time (And I had my own lil interuptions as well) anyways lets get into it):
Me : What should I refer to you as?
Escap : What do you mean?
Me : Like what should I call you throughout this convo like a name or nickname or just ur pmc name?
Escap : I asked this in a wall post, and I think we settled on my abbreviated name being “Escap”. You can do whatever you want though.
Me : Alr Escape hows your day been so far? o_o
Escap : What? What’s with the face? My days been pretty normal so far, I guess. It’s still pretty early.
Me : Oh no its cuz u vanished with no warning dw.
Me : Anyways next question. How old are you? You dont have to be specific you could just say your of age or under aged
Escap : Older than 15, younger than 20. Just treat me like im not.
Me : Alright just so you know ima start with some prty boring questions but later on this chat ima get onto stuff that is more specific to you and your content.
Me : Do you have any pets?
Escap : Not really.
Me : Wdym. did yo used to have a pet or is it one of ur siblings or other family members pet?
Escap : Second option. Sorry, im being kind of vague with personal questions.
Me : Alright np I understand.
Me : Whats your favorite color and why? Doesnt have to be a big explanation
Escap : Royal blue. Don’t know why though. I just like the look of it, it guess.
Me : Aight whats ur fav animals and why (basic question to start as i said)
Escap : For the longest time, I could not be able to make that kind of preference, but now that ive looked back on it… Cat
Me : Alright respect I have a cat so I appreciate that statement.
Me : Do you listen to any music and if yes whats your favorite genre or musician or just song in general
Me : Oh and since we were on the topic of cats did you make that dancing cat on your homepage?
Escap : That version, yes. I talk more about it on its content page. I found the original version being put up by several different users, I wanted one for my own profile because of my interest in cats. But to match the rest of my profile, I broke the animation down into frames, copied each one with my art style, and strung them back together in an animation software. The GIF reuses a few frames, so it only added up to about 12 unique ones.
Me : And since were on the topic of your art style I would like to say I find it really unique and I like it? Do you mind talking about how you found your style? Or if your style was inspired by someone else’s etc? Oh also when did you start drawing in this style
Escap : I created my art style when I first joined PMC and needed a way to visually build my identity.
Escap : I wanted to have an art style that represented me as a person. My main source for this was my autism. I'm not extroverted or cheery in the slightest, so a moody, nighttime-esque aesthetic was going to be the most accurate one. But at the same time, I'm not dark or emo. I think that gothic, creepy styles are best generally avoided, so I wasn't going to have that. I also went for a technological setting to match what my interests generally were.
Escap : As for outside inspiration, I think I can pinpoint two sources. Indie music composer, Danny Burns, known online as Techno Cinema, use to have a similar sky blue-against-dark blue theme to what I use today. He switched to something different just as I was forming an online presence, so I was more comfortable with using something that resembled it.
Escap : A second likely source of inspiration would be in the form of Ninjago. Early seasons would show its title card against a mono-color outline of a town or city (kind of like my banner), and season 3 was themed after robotics and futuristic tech. Things came together when I listened to one of the songs written for the season, Full Digital.
Me : The wait was worth the response. Your a fan of ninjago I assume? And again since were on the topic any shows that you watch? Animes, cartoons, etc
Escap : Lately, I actually haven't been able to find any shows that I can really get invested in. I find that most shows release today insist on using plots and stories better suited for movies, not allowing for episodes to stand independently, always having some sort of constant goal that hangs over the entire show, and not letting themselves take slow and produce content naturally. I find myself drawn towards movies as a form of visual storytelling media. Oh, and I oppose anime. I don't like the art style, and I don't like the plots.
Me : What animes have you watched that have you not liking the plots? What kind of plots do you dislike relating to anime?
Escap : I have watched one anime in my entire life, Sonic X. While not the most extreme anime, I was still baffled and annoyed by the areas that did stem from its anime roots. And I still find the anime art style also in video games and other types of art. I think my main problem is the hyper realism of its characters and design. It's not a great thing to try and represent human thoughts and emotions. It's designs and character behaviors are too extreme and portray the world in a way that it isn't. Plus, it's straight up weird and kind of uncanny. But this is all just an option (Opinion*). I know there are people who watch and adore it, I just sit comfortably outside that community.
Me : I can see that. Ive head that alot of people dislike the extremities and exagerations of emotions but a lot of people also enjoy that.

Me : Alright lets continue then on something else on your homepage. Could explain what a cft is?
Escap : XD here I got them once for no reason, and I don't know what to do with them. I know some PMCers are really into them, so I put that there to try and get the CFTs into hands that want them more than mine.
Me : Oh ok I thinkn I know what you mean
Me : Give me a second I got a few more question but I need to help my mom with smthn rl quick tho.
Me : Back. Do you read any books and if yes what genre?
Escap : That's literally the only other storytelling genre I have a hard time getting into. Lately, the main ones that I've been reading were The Hobbit and The Time Machine. The rest of these new fiction books just seem to blend together in terms of ideas, theme, and style. Plus, The Hobbit eclipses every other book of fiction I've ever read. But going back further, I grew up on the Magic Tree House series, my mom had me read the Little House on the Prairie series, and I went through the Harry Potter and Chronicles of Narnia series once.
Escap : Lol I also read a bit of the Narnia books but ive only read 2 of em and I ofc have read Harry Potter. And di you like the hobbit books or movies more?
Escap : (I probably should've applied my book thought process to when you asked me about shows, so you can just throw this onto that segment.) In terms of shows that I have seen, whether from my childhood or more recently. I can name things like Ninjago, VeggieTales, Mixels, Homestar Runner, Duck Dynasty, and Psych as a few quick examples.
Escap : The Hobbit book is great so far, better than the movies. Although the movies aren't bad, and I don't think they deserve as much hate as they get. I haven't gotten to the Lord of the Rings books, but those movies are practically unmatched!
Me : Oh dont worry im basicaly gonna copy and paster everything in order with color coding so ppl dont get confused. Also facts the hobbit films are over hated but i guess im biased since it was the first time id seen anything relating to middle earth being that movie.
Me : Anyways to continue Do you have any other interests outside of art, map making, and storytelling?
Escap : I... don't know. I'm strangely picky with my interests. Those three things are usually enough to fill my day along side school and stuff I do with my family.
Me : Im not sure if I asked this question earlier but do you listen to music and if yes whats your favorite genre or musician?
Escap : You haven't asked that yet. I currently don't know how to identify music genres, so I can't really have a favorite one. What I listen to is a whole lot of stuff I find out in public (although music with language and suggestive lyrics are at a large disadvantage). Some of the artists I gravitate to the most are NEEDTOBREATHE, Twenty-one Pilots, Family Force 5, and CG5.
Me : Me neither I just be enjoying what I enjoy.
Me : I have a few questions relating to you being a christian? Were you raised a Christian or was it something that you discovered for yourself? (How did you discover christianity if so and what brought it to you?)
Escap : Yes, I was raised Christian. There wasn't really any trouble in my religious life. I was very confident in my faith even at a young age. I was baptized when I was still a child. Except, I really wasn't. I didn't fully understand baptism when I originally did it. I was just going through the motions of what was set before me. As I got older, I didn't feel like a genuine Christian. It wasn't until four years ago that, even though it can be offered to you, your religion is never genuine until you decide for yourself to adapt it. This didn't happen until four years ago, when I decided to go through the book, Experiencing God. That's what showed me how to truly embrace Christianity. Now I am even more confident in my faith than ever.
Me : Alright I would say my experience with faith is somewhat similar except I was never baptized. Whats your denomination of christianity if you are in one? For example Catholic, Methodist, Protestant, Non denominational etc
Escap : I don’t bother with that I just go off what I see to be true in the Bible. So… Non-denominational, I guess
Me : Same I simply follow what the bible says. Do you have any advice for your FELLOW* Christians or people trying to learn more about Christianity?
Escap : John 15:3-4 “You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.” Our relationship with God goes both ways. He wants to be with us because we our his children and creation. He brought you into the world because he wanted you in it. And we go to him because he is good and all knowing. He knows us better than we know ourselves. He wants us to come to him just as we are so that he can make us new. Stay close to God and he will show you how to live for the truth.
Me : Alr thats some good advice
Me : How long have you been playing minecraft for and what inspired you to make your first map? OK SKADOODLE I forgot one of my question but you can answer this too. Did someone request you make the support stamp or was that your idea?
Escap : (answer to Minecraft question) I actually didn't play Minecraft until me and my brothers got the Switch version towards the end of 2021 (same year I became a Christian, I'm just now noticing). Eventually, I learned about the Minecraft marketplace and discovered the idea of making games within Minecraft. I've liked the idea of making my own storytelling media for most of my life. Before getting Minecraft, I tried and failed to make a basic adventure game with a programming software (people who have heard of Scratch Desktop will understand my shortcomings). Without thinking about how it would work, I use the Switch version to begin work on my first map, not caring that it was probably too big for how new I was to it. The map in question would go on to become The Tale of William Darkstone. That map was kind of the driving force behind the future of how I make content. While it's still not finished, I want to go back and wrap it up after I'm ready to apply what I learned from other projects.
Escap : (Answer to support stamp question)The support stamp was my idea. I wanted to have something that the Christians to use to remind people of the common belief they all share. I hoped it would make them feel less alone in their faith. I kept this idea in my head for a while before I asked about it in a wall post. The idea was received with a lot of encouragement, so, using the idea I had for it, I went in to designing it. The cross as a symbol means something very different to what Christians use it for, so I wrapped the Ichthys around it to assure that the correct meaning was getting across. I made several different variations of the stamp to make sure that people of all types could use it. The standard version reads "I am with the Christians of Planet Minecraft", but I also made one that changes the text to "I support the Christians of Planet Minecraft" so that non-Christians could use it if they wanted to. I also exported each of these in its original pixel by pixel resolution as well as in a much bigger resolution that reaches each side of the screen, just to make sure one wasn't too small or too big for the profile. Which gives me four different versions of the same stamp. And I'm working on including versions of the stamp that remove the religious symbols altogether. So, by the time this interview goes up, the stamp might actually have eight different versions!
Me : Can you explain what the icthys means to be frank ive seen the dish but i dont know what it means?
Escap : Here's the Wikipedia page. From what I know, It's a symbol of Christianity created during the Roman Empire as a way for secret believers to identify each other. One person would draw the top half, and the other would draw the bottom half.
Me : Cool thanks for the enlightenment.
Me : Now lets end this off on a less religious topic. Do you use any tutorials for specific parts of your maps like that train in the Old Town Square or is everything in your maps straight from your gnoggin?
Escap : I look at other things as inspiration for my builds all the time. I start with an idea for what I want to make, and then model it after other things to make sure I get it to look right. Using the train as an example. Old Town Square was inspired by a real town near where I live. That town has a shut down railroad with a train on it. This is why I included one in Old Town Square. After I decided where to put it, I looked at pictures of trains from the 1800s and other trains people built in Minecraft to see how they did it (but I never copied their actual designs), and I found a plastic toy train that looked like what I wanted my train to be. That was the main thing I modeled it after. I wouldn't call them "tutorials" since I'm not following some sort of method to make what I want. I research what I want to make by looking at similar things to base off of and then use creative library to design it the way I wanted.
Me : Wow thats some pretty cool hidden lore to your map.
Me : Are you working on any maps right now or a new story?
Escap : I'm pretty much always working on some sort of story project, but I don't reveal them until I know I'm going to follow through with it and it's going to be finished within a serviceable amount of time. Sometimes the schedules get messed up and an announced project takes much longer than what I originally planned. However, as I learn more about how long these things take, and as I get better at finishing them faster, the schedules should get more and more accurate.I want to try to get into written stories alongside mapmaking. I don't know exactly what my first one will be, but I have more than a few ideas for it. Currently, the next major project I have set come out will be The Strays.
Me : I understand scheduling and needing more time happesn to me alot. Is it a continuation to your other stray map?
Escap : It is the other stray map.
Me : Alright. Whats your favorite of the maps youve posted on PMC?
Escap : Right now, I would say the Tower of Steve. I think thats the one people like more and I was able to give it a Bedrock port and even DLC.
Me : Alright I might try that map out then if I figure out how to import it. Do you plan on making more skin connected to maps youve made?
Escap : Yeah, as my stories get more and more involved, I've started implementing specific characters into them. The skins is how I design them, although I'm not as good at it as I'd like to be. But that's something you can expect in the future.
Me : Facts as almost everyone say practice makes perfect you can always improve. Is their anything that you want to share about yourself that you havent done in your homepage?
Escap : Dont think so. I mainly only talk aboutt hings when it becomes prominent.
Me : Alright. To end this off do you have any questions for me?
Escap : Not really.
Me : Alright well i hope you have a great rest of your night and week.
Escap : Glad I could help.

Apologies for the extremely late post I had to delay our usual Friday report to today because of complications and I was sleepy. And also just an FYI some of Escap's replies had links in them so try not to miss them
