Minecraft and Creativity: Hand in Hand

When you think of Minecraft, what do you think of first?

The cute and creative skins nearly a million users have posted onto Planet Minecraft for others to use and enjoy?

Or perhaps the fun and exciting adventure maps, filled with puzzles, PvP, dungeons, and tasks that will have you flipping your keyboard over for hours?

Maybe it's the amazing structures than are created by hand (or mouse!) that are incredibly accurate, and can tower as high as the clouds, or burrow as deep as bedrock?

Whether you've been playing Minecraft for five days or five years, the following listed have become a normal part of the game that adds a touch of creativity. But if you look closer, chances are, you can come to truly admire the work that's put into these works, and how it may have more of an impact than you think.

Let's start with the most common form- skins. Nearly every player out in the Minecraft universe has a skin, whether it be done by the user themselves, or downloaded off of a website. But these skins aren't just for looks. If every person out there had a Steve skin, how would a player define themselves from the millions upon millions of others who look just like them? It's be like a piece of hay in a haystack; your existance is pretty much unknown to everyone else. Not only that, but skins sometimes take hours to make. Especially-detalied ones have as much heart and care put into it as a painting or drawing.

With that being said, a player's skin lets them, just in one little way, be able to stand out in the crowd, to be unique. If everyone was a Steve, the community wouldn't nearly have flourished as it did now.

Now let's go to the buildings. Maps, structures, parkour, even redstone mechanics all have a special place in the Minecraft world. If you couldn't build, you could protect yourself against the creatures of the night. No house? No place to hide.
Your house also serves as a statement of who you are. Some like houses that do nothing but keep them alive, rather having a dirt hut that'll do than some who want massive, room after room mansions that are filled with decorations such as paintings, flowers, and more.

Even Minecraft would get boring eventually without one thing-- Maps. Parkour. Minigames filled with plugins hand-made by a dedicated player like you or me. Building is such a basic concept in the game, and yet it serves as the game's beacon of hope. No creativity, no building, no money. The game virtually lives off it's own life support. If we were too lazy, or too boring to come up with stuff to do that others would enjoy in the game, the game would collapse altogether, resulting in the end of the Mincraft and pretty much every game that was ever created, too.

We kept ourselves going because of the infinite amount of ideas that we have every day. it makes us human, lets us grow. Not only does this help in Minecraft, but ever since the beginning of time, we have lived off of our ideas- if we hadn't come up with the idea to make fire, we would've have never progressed. If we hadn't come up with new medicines or new surgeries, a lot of us wouldn't even be alive right now. Creativity keeps every single person on this Earth going.

And, like the Earth, it keeps Minecraft going too.

yeah i was just lazy

Couldn't* o-o

I don't know about anyone else, but Dirt Huts actually are good houses o-o they're less cheap than your wooden castle, and if a part of your Dirt Castle bows up - you can go out dirt digging for more.. Theres dirt pretty much everywhere.

This makes perfect sense! If none of these things exsisted, Well, I would probably still be playing Mario games :P I mean, Theyre still fun to play, But it gives you just a linear path to follow, With the exception of the occasion split-in-the-map thing. But your still on the same route! Minecraft allows you  to do the complete opposite of this. If i feel linear, I could play an Adventure map or Mario games. IF i dont feel linear, i can go into a server and survive with my friends, Or go all out and see how long i can survive by myself. Minecraft is pretty much my definition of happiness right now.
