Hey everybody and today I'm going to show you how to make the sky black in Minecraft 1.8! Before we get started I'd like to mention two quick things!
1. I didn't figure out how to do this myself! I learned how to through a video by Dragnoz which you can find here.
2. This does work in previous versions but I'm going to be showing you how to in Minecraft 1.8.
How To:
The first thing you're going to need to know before you can make your worlds sky black is that when you're doing this, all you really are doing is changing your worlds biome before you actually create the world, (This means you can not make your previous worlds sky black) and that your biome you will be creating for your world will be a Sky (End) biome which you can learn more about here. Let's get started!
When creating a new world click on "More World Options..." then click on "World Type: Default" and the World Type should change to Superflat. Then you're going to need to click on "Customize""Presets", and at the top of the screen a box filled with a bunch of numbers and letters should pop up. (If you're unsure what I'm talking about the box should say
"3;minecraft:bedrock,2*minecraft:dirt,minecraft:grass;1;village
when you first start out. You now need to delete everything in that box and then paste this into the box: "3;minecraft:air;9;" Then you're pretty much done! Now all you have to do is click "Use Preset", "Done", and "Create New World".
IMPORTANT NOTE: Since the world is completely air now you will have to somehow change your gamemode into Creative so you can fly up and stop falling into the void!
