These are personal opinions, I'm not implying Minecraft itself isn't a good game or attempting to change anyone's interest nor opinion.

There are many reasons why I stopped playing Minecraft, and many for staying away.
However, in this article, I will be discussing my reasons for stopping, why I keep away and what might make me come back.

I started playing Minecraft back in 2011, late in the Beta series.
As for I'm 16, I was around ten years old at the time I started, which makes it quite hard to remember anything.
However, I do remember a little, and I remember the Versions always made the game better in almost every shape.

I stopped playing Minecraft around 2015, for two years ago, mostly because of the Versions which is what I will be starting the article off.

At the end of 2014, 1.8 came out, it had a lot of features, and many loved it, and the opposite.
I didn't like the Version at all, it did bring sweet features, but it was too much for my taste.
It was the beginning of my dislike towards both Minecraft and Mojang.

1.8, 1.8.1 and 1.8.2 came out; these didn't notably change my sight at Minecraft.
However, it did make it clear that multiple features I disliked, such as banners, armory, and granite stone.

Some might agree with me, some not.

Banners and Armory were two things that annoyed me a lot with 1.8.
It didn't fit in; it wasn't what Minecraft was known for, which is blocks, simple 1x1 blocks.
They did allow players to decorate their houses, castles, and creations better, but it ruined a lot in my opinion.

The granite stone, which was one of the Things I hated the most.
They were completely different from any other material Minecraft had at the time; it didn't fit in.
I've played a couple of times lately and built once or twice; granite stone does make the final touch great.
However, I still mean it doesn't fit in, and I stand behind the opinion of the removal of all granite stones.

Mobs are one of the most critical factors of what makes Minecraft to what it is.
Without it, Minecraft wouldn't be Complete, and it wouldn't be the same fun, which is why I wasn't a fan of adding New mobs.
Mobs were Perfect as it was, Mojang didn't add any for ages, why would they first begin so late?

Rabbits, pretty as pets but otherwise pretty much ignored otherwise in reality.
What would change if Rabbits were added? Not the experience, which is why I found the add unnecessary and decrease of the playing experience.

However, rabbits were a small part of the mobs that were added at 1.8.
Mobs such as Guardians, Elder Guardians and Endermites?
How do they even fit into Minecraft?

They live underwater and defend a temple (if I am correct).
I'm not incredibly experienced with these mobs, nor the temple.
Somewhat people find these mobs both fun and useful, which is where I fail to see the point.

Here's the one thing I hated the most, wings.
If it were another game, wings would be completely awesome.
But Minecraft?
It changes the game completely when a player can fly 200+ blocks away from a mountain.

It would ruin the pvp entirely if the second player didn't have wings.
The player would just directly fly away from the combat.
Doesn't this just make pvp useless if they were on a high spot?

Then It's servers, plenty of choices, yet I still find it difficult to find an average server.
Either It's stone tools, or It's iron equipment, I've failed to find a server with something in the middle.
Something like stone tools, but an iron pickaxe and maybe six steaks.

And of course, the community.
There are plenty of different communities out there, some friendly, some which are pure fire, yet I still failed to find a community that suits me and stays online for more than a month.
Possibly It's just me desiring more than possible, yet that's nothing I can change.

These are my main reasons why I stopped playing.
There are a few others but nothing of the matter.
I've tried to start Minecraft and join a server to get the feeling back, might be my bad luck, but I seem just to find poor communities or servers.
Maybe many of you can agree with me on this one, when you are trying to start playing a game again, spending ages trying to find a server just takes your motivation away.

I genuinely miss Minecraft and the good communities I was with.
I can't manage to get the motivation or interest back.
Submitting blogs and forum posts might be my attempt to get the interest, yet, it still hasn't worked.

As a Gamer from the age 7, I've jumped from game to game and lost interest for games more than I can count.
Still, Minecraft is a game where I learned what servers were, where I started to host servers and of course, some fun LAN parties with school buddies back in the days.
These are the reasons why I want to come back, I have only good memories and experiences from the game, and I'd hope for future good experiences.

There are always options for finding 1.7.2 servers, but there are so few, and the Minecraft Community has moved from it long ago.

This article was pretty much just writing what I had in my heart. Hopefully, you enjoyed it.
I'd love to get some feedback, both positive and negative!
I would also love to get suggestions and opinions on how I could return to Minecraft and get the interest back.

Best Regards,
Nickolay

Didn't include the combat system in the article, unfortunately.
One of the things that made me quit actually, It's a massive replacement.

Minecraft isn't meant to be a strategy combat game, the combat needs to be simple.

Indeed, yet the community had moved on from the older versions a long time ago.
I'd be surprised if I'd find any 1.7.2 servers still running with a decent player base.

Yeah, they're a lot of mods for 1.7.10. That's why I still play it for a modded experience.
