Due to recent experiments in MC, I have noticed that if you ride a minecart down 16 blocks and back up another 16 block hill, without pressing W or boost tracks, you only go up 14 tracks. The ratio 14/16 is 7/8, or .875. If you go down a 200 meter hill(200 meters=200 blocks), the next hill, to over come it, must have a height no more than 175. If you go down a 200 meter hill onto a 25 meter hill, the next hill, in theory, should be no more than 171 blocks. This is because the max height of hill C is determined by the height of Hill A and B. If Hill be could have a max height of 175, but it only goes up 25, the loss of meters on the 25 meter hill is 3.125. Add this to hill B's potential height, and you get a rounded 171 (Always round down to prevent mistakes).
