Hello there! I'm Rusty, and I'm proud to say here is yet another installment of my 'Minecraft Origins' series!
Yay! This time, we take another look back, at the past of another mysterious Minecraftian...

Part two: The Blaze

There have been several accounts of players commenting on the distinct appearance of the blaze. But today, the truth will be revealed as to why.

It was sometime in the fall, when Notch was ready to introduce something new to the land of Minecraftia. Early in the making of his land, Notch tried to create as many things as he could, as it seems all of his power was making him weaker, less able to create wonderful things. He needed something to spice it up again, something that the inhabitants of Minecraftia could remember him by when his time came he had no more power.

Notch was brainstorming, when he looked down upon the land, and noticed that the infernal demon, Herobrine, was getting more stronger and more evil as the days passed by. Notch knew his land would not be forgiving if this monster destroyed all the land, so as part of his new creations, he made a new dimension, one that could sustain Herobrine while the world healed. So he prepared this new dimension, and named it the 'Nether', but he also called it by 'the Nexus'. This new dimension was so foul, only a handful of Notch's most hideous creations would ever set foot in that land, and so he also made new monsters, to make the Nether the most horrible place that ever was.

Then, when all was done, he banished Herobrine to the fowl lands of the Nether, and then closed the portal. "My work is done" Notch has fulfilled what he said he would do, and he then rested. Meanwhile, in the Nether, all Herobrine could do, is gather all the monsters, and plan an escape. From the pigmen, Herobrine made a golden sword that was like a ghost, sweeping winds, and to call all nearby monsters, as well as send a chill upon all who neared him. He then went to his 'Nether Fortress' that he had gotten all the mobs to build for him from burning Netherrack to create Netherbrick. Upon walking across a large bridge, a huge lava-fall fell from the roof of the Nether, and blocked their path, so Herobrine grabbed his sword, and stuck it into the lava, and it instantly turned into obsidian.

Herobrine could remember the stone, but from the obsidian shot out 'fire powder', a fire burning, yet you could grab and hold it. Too much concentration of this fire powder, and it would cause a large explosion of deadly destruction, so Herobrine went on to discuss this matter. He arrived at the altar, a small Netherbrick room, with a 1x1 lava in the center. Speaking in a strange tongue, Herobrine chanted something, and still chanting, he took some swords of the pigmen, ripped the sticks out, and fused them with the fire powder in the lava. He slowly got up, "Dehsinif si ti" Herobrine backed up, as the sticks, maybe 6 or 7 of them, rose up, spinning round and round. The lava block in the altar slowly rose up, as the rods continued to spin faster and faster. The lava block finally stopped just about the spinning circle of fire rods, and it slowly cooled just a bit, then two small holes sunk in, and the monster slowly floated down. " Symene ruoy nopu erif daerps htiw uoy rof ,'Ezalb' eht sa nwonk eb llahs uoy " The blaze went on, creating more blazes, and guarding several towers on the fortress.

Then Herobrine made a portal into the overworld, not only for him to escape, but for players to come across his most deadly creation.

From that day on, the blaze was known as the fire of the Nether Fortress.

Thanks for reading! I hope it answered all of your questions o-o

Fun fact (don't worry its real)

There is an extremely low chance (under 0.01%) that a nether portal will spawn in a cave

that's because these are the secret portals Herobrine used to go in and out of the Nether, but these portals only open so rarely...
