I know that most of you know what paid and cracked are, but for those of you who don't know what cracked Minecraft is, it is a way to play Minecraft for free.
Now, getting to my actual point, is it better to get it for free, or to pay for it. Let's look at a few bits of info.
Minecraft is kinda unique when it comes to purchasing it. It is one that, like many others, lets you get a taste of what it's like before buying it. But there is more. Looking at the price, it is nearly 30 dollars (I don't know how much in different countries). A few of the cracked members are probably thinking this:
"Oh! That's a lot of money for an online game! I could just buy like two Playstation games for that much!"
Well, maybe you can but based on other online games, 30 dollars is cheap, not to mention it is a permanent membership. Based on that, for the popular game Runescape, it is over 70 dollars for just one year, which is over double the price of Minecraft. Even the website Webkinz is 45 dollars a year.
Do the prices not have you convinced? Well, lets look at the features added for a few games:
Pirates of the Caribbean Online: 10 dollars a month, has levels, quests, and weapons added.
Runescape: 8 dollars a month, adds quests, items, levels, and things to train in.
Webkinz: 4 dollars a month, adds e-store points, monthly gift box, extra turns at 1-a-day things, quests, and rooms
Club Penguin: 8 dollars a month, gives you more ways to spend your money.
World of Warcraft: 15 dollars a month, Gems, quests, more levels.
Wizard 101: 8 dollars a month, various expanded things.
X-Box Live: 25 dollars for 3 months, able to play various games online.
Playstation Network: 10 dollars a month, various games for two systems.
Even games for the newer systems cost more, such as 60 dollars for ps3 and Xbox, and handhelds being about 35 for the newest releases.
Still not convinced? Let's look at the Minecraft features:
Cracked: Free, Single Player, open to scams, few servers, and so on.
Paid: 30 dollars (Forever), NO scams, all servers, ability for skins, and so on.
I will say this, if you want to see what Minecraftreally is like before you buy, Cracked is good, but if you have sufficient funds to buy the MMO game, you probably are just plain rude to the makers.
Now taking into account if you play Minecraft only a day or so a week. It may not seem worth it to buy it. And thinking about it, using the Runescape example, 30 dollars is about 4 months (approximate). To get the full experience of what you gave to Mojang by buying it, you'd have to play about 4 months. So, if over a year, you might only play 50 different days. Using common knowledge, you'd need to play 120 days, and if you rarely play, that will take you forever, so maybe cracked is a better option. So after these facts,
