We held out an experiment to find out the gravitational acceleration in minecraft. According to Wazulu, the gravity in minecraft is same as on earth, but with a few exceptions.

So I thought: Would the gravitational acceleration be same even though they are in different worlds? Lets test that out.

The Gravitational acceleration on earth is 9.8m/s2. Which is quite fast.

First we made a tnt cannon:

(Firepower is 7 tnts)
___njpg
Blastoff!!!!! Yayz

Then we measured how far the sand went:
It was 97 blocks lol.
Then we divide this by two so we can find the midpoint of the horizontal displacement
so (Î x)/2= 48.5
Then we have to find how high the sand went.
___njpg
I was too lazy to actually build a wall to measure, so my brother helped me find it by using a high pillar =_=
We found out that the vertical displacement is 43 blocks, thats what my brother told me. (I hope it's true)

Now we have to find out how long the flight took:
Screen-shot----at--PM_
The flight took 4.4 Seconds. Since parabolas are symmetrical we'll just say that the time it takes to rise is the same as the time it takes to fall. (Too lazy to calculate air resistance) The the time it took to fall is 2.2 seconds.

Now we use the formula to find out the gravitational acceleration which is
y2=y1+vt+(1/2)gt^2
The variable g is the gravitational acceleration.

Now we substitute some variables so that we can calculate it..
Which is um.... ah..... This! I hope I'm not wrong.
Î y=(1/2)g(Î t/2)^2

Then we rearrange the equation so that the output is g.
g=2Î y/ {(Î t/2)^2}

Now we substitute the variables with the datas.
g=2(43) / (4.4/2)^2
g=96 / 2.2^2
g=96/ 4.84
g= 19.8347

Now we have got our Gravitational Acceleration which is 19.8347m/s^2
The earth's Gravitational Acceleration is 9.8m/s2

So that means that Gravitational acceleration does not correspond to the strength of gravity.

I hope you Enjoyed, I may be able to do few more experiments!!
