The 1.8 snapshots have finally started coming!
The first thing that was added in snapshot 14w02b is three new types of stone - Granite, Dorite, and Andesite, along with "polished" versions of all three (crafted by putting four pieces of the non-polished version in a square).
The second thing is now when you craft a door, you get three doors back. That's right, DOORS NOW STACK! YEAH! Same with iron doors. :)
There was a huge update to Adventure Mode also. Now you can't place or break ANY BLOCKS. That is, unless they are made able to break certain blocks, so you can have a pickaxe that can break ONLY, for example, Netherrack and Lapis Ore. Or a shovel that can only break clay. Stuff like that.
A couple new commands were added to. :D You can lock and unlock chests, teleport specific entities, kill specific entities/players, and a blockdata command that allows you to edit what's inside a chest.
One really big thing is that enchanting got a HUGE update. If you put up to 3 lapis lazuli (yay lapis is finally USEFUL!) you can see one of the enchantments that your item will get, so you can kind of control what you get. :D At least I think that's how it works...
Villager trading got added to a little bit. Now you can see what type of villager it is.
Awesome Thing - There are two new crafting recipes for items that are already in Minecraft: Chiseled Stone Bricks and Mossy Stone Bricks. Chiseled Stone Bricks are crafted by putting two Stone Brick Slabs one on top of another in a crafting table. Mossy Stone Bricks are crafted by putting a Stone Brick Block and vines in a crafting table (shapeless).
Okay, I saved the best thing for last. SLIME BLOCKS (crafted by putting nine slime balls in a square in a crafting table). They are the most amazing because 1, they look pretty cool, and 2, they make you bounce!!
BUGS - The only bug I know of is when you break a block in the ground, then place water by it, instead of the water flowing into the hole it will flow over it as if the hole wasn't there.
That's pretty much all I know about the snapshot so far. :) You can play the snapshot from the launcher by clicking "New Profile" then selecting "Enable experimental development versions (snapshots)". You can find snapshot 14w02b, create the profile, then you can play and explore the new features for yourself!
That's all for now. Diamond, comment, subscribe! Thanks for reading! :D
