I have been playing Minecraft since 2011.Over that long time I have come across many funny, spooky, and thrilling moments. Some of these moments have even taught me to never get too cocky in any situation. One of those instances was the time I went mining for gold.
I am a Minecraft player that loves to play Survival mode. While playing I decided I needed a clock, and clocks need gold. After realizing this I thought about where I could find some gold. I had decided to go into a cave and go as deep as it went and look there. I gathered up some food, a sword, some torches, and an iron pic axe. Then I bound to my mining cave and bounced down the long rocky corridor. Eventually I came upon a ravine. I thought no problem, and I broke some stone with my pic axe when suddenly I heard the clinking of bones. I thought uh oh, considering I was building a one-block-wide bridge across. I quickly built the bridge scurried across it and whipped around expecting a skeleton to shoot me. I stood there and waited glancing around me. I heard it again but the skeleton never showed so I merrily continued on my quest for gold. I then walked, a little more cautious this time, down a long curvy path. After that I ended up in a huge open room with some lava spilling onto the floor from above. The room was about 20 blocks wide with a lava fall off to the left. The lava was coming from a cave above the open room and was draining into it. That's when I spotted it, five gold ore on the wall next to the lava. You (the reader) are probably like oh I'm going to stop reading because I already know what is going to happen. Silly ol' stevewm is going to drop his gold in the lava or he is going to fall in the lava. But do not click away just yet. Don't worry it's not one of those stories I didn't even touch the lava nor did any of my gold. Well back to the story, so I slowly crept up to the gold, avoiding the lava, and got every piece of it. Then I thought mission accomplished. I got a big smile on my face and turned around to leave the room. Suddenly, CLANK! The skeleton from earlier fell down in front of me from the cave above. I whipped out my stone sword and he shot me twice. Then I got right up on him and started to smash him to pieces. I was just about to deliver the finishing blow when the sound of the shattering of glass filled the room and I was poisoned. I whipped around after killing the skeleton to be greeted by a witch. I was at only three hearts now and was losing health fast. I ran from her back up to where I had come into the room. I then built a box of cobblestone around me. I sat there waiting for the potion to wear off. When it finally did I ate some of my baked potatoes I had brought and waited some more until my health was at full again. Suddenly I burst from my enclosure and slashed the witch to death. I was done testing my luck and ran away from the room and back across the ravine. I scurried up the rocky path I had come down there on until I came upon the surface of my Minecraft world. I ran to my house expecting to some how get murdered by a mob of some type but somehow I was lucky enough to make it alive. I quickly threw open the door and tossed my gold into a furnace. I shut the door and layed upon my bed to skip the night. I awoke the next morning thinking about what happened last night and decided I should be more careful.
I have learned from this that baked potatoes can save your life. After this I also decided to never leave my house without the items I had packed then.
