Introduction

Today I am going to explain to you my o Minedeaso contest entry. The basic idea is to implement better trains to Minecraft. Continue reading to learn about my ideas and thoughts.

Purpose and Main Idea

Now, before I even start, I want to let you know something. This is NOT a COPY of Railcraft. These are my ideas! I thought of all these ideas without the help of other modifications/internet. Now, here is my purpose.

The purpose of this modification to the game is to increase the options you have with transportation. If you want to go somewhere fast and first class, take a passenger train. If you need to transport liquids or a large amount of goods, set up a freight train.

This addition to Minecraft would be very helpful in multi-player spawns when there are many people online. You could simply set up a train track with trains coming and going, meaning more space around the server o hotspots.o If there is one thing that I dono t like about a server, ito s a very, very busy spawn.

This could also increase the amount of creativity in Minecraft. Instead of boring old dirt houses, build a train yard with real, working freight trains. The possibilities are endless.

With this mod/in game feature, more people may decide to play and enjoy Minecraft. Rail fans who like to create things, may come to Minecraft to build a replica of their favorite/dream station or rail line. Remember, the more people who play Minecraft, the better chance of updates in the future.

Trains and Cars

Before we start, leto s get the two different types of trains suggested in this addition to the game. 1: Passenger trains. 2: Freight trains. These trains and cars have different speeds, inventory, quality, and, of course, looks.

Passenger trains: Sleek trains that are meant to carry many people, these trains would be great to move from village to village with. In game, these trains would be very fast. They could also be knocked off the tracks quite easily if you got to fast going down a hill. All you have to do is right click your mouse to turn on and off.

Freight trains: These trains are made to transport goods from one place to another. In the game, these would be good for moving large quantities of stone and dirt after a long dig. Some features would be: a slow start, but can pick up speed, powered by coal and can carry up to 20 cars at once.

Box car: Inside the box car, there is a double chest, which means that it can store a lot. Good for getting around.

Mineral car: The mineral car is used to transport items such as coal, iron diamonds, gold, lapis and redstone. It is good to have some of these down in the mine, because it can carry large quantities at once.

Tanker: This car is used to carry lava and water to different places. It is very useful if you need to fill a pond. You just have to right click the car with a bucket to extract 1/3 of the car. (3 buckets = 1 full tanker)

Other Items and Recipes

Toll Booth: This item could be used to keep unwanted mobs and animals out of stations or parking lots. Just right click and it can open up and let you through.

Schedule Painting: This could be crafted the same as a regular painting. It wouldn't actually serve any real purpose, but it would be a good decoration anyways!

Rail Signals: The rail signals could be activated by either switch or detector rail. They would change from green to red. It could be used as both a decoration and a function able signal.

Other Notes worth Mentioning

Some ideas worth thinking of are some notes worth mentioning! First of all, the engine would stay in front of the cars, and the cars would connect automatically. Just plunk the cars behind the engine and there you go! I also thought about adding an intersection. It would be in the o xo shape, like so:

Personal Thoughts

I thought of this idea as a unique and interesting idea because, although there are some train mods out there, they are all very complicated and not easy to use. I thought hard about my concept and gave as much good information as possible.

I have always been fascinated by trains. I love them. But, where I live, the trains were taken away many years ago due to lack of need. I decided to go ahead with this idea because it was an interesting concept and it is something I love to explore.
