Intro
Hello Piggies and Steves to my entry for the Minedeas Blog Contest! My Idea for Minecraft would be to add above-ground Forts and castles inhabited by Villagers, but not the kind already in the game. Villagers that look like players, and TALK! There are 7 kinds of citizens-merchants, priests, blacksmiths, guards, farmers, bandits, and hunters. Also, there is 1 king per castle/city, and 1 captain per Fort.

The New Dudes

Merchant-Trades items with the player and other citizens, excluding bandits.

Priest-Gives blessings and enchanted gear if you complete his quests.

Blacksmith-Crafts armor, tools, and weapons (All iron, by the way.) and sells them to the player or gives them as a quest reward.

Guard-Patrols the settlement walls and attacks all hostile mobs near. Attacks bandits.

Farmer-Grows, harvests, and replants crops and sells them to players.

Bandit-Attacks player and citizens and steals items from chests.

Hunter-Attacks any cows, pigs, chickens, or sheep that come close and sells the drops from the animals.

King-Ruler of city/castle. Is kind to the player unless attacked. Guards patrol the throne room.

HOW IT WOULD WORK

The castles, forts, and cities would basically have a general layout, and work as a structure for the "Generate Structures" option. They would look very old fashioned, and forts would sometimes look damaged from an attack. The citizens would behave as NPCs do, and when you get within a certain block radius, they would have an automatic message play through the text. Ex: Merchant: Hey (Player Name)! Wanna buy some goods? This would happen as you would walk past a merchant. All the other citizens would behave in generally the same way, except for bandits, which roam the city rooftops then drop down on citizens or players without warning! When you are harmed by a bandit, there is the possibility that one of your items could be stolen! They may be a pest, should you decide to live in a city. Also, breaking blocks in the city/castle/fort will make guards grow suspicious. Break one too many blocks, and the guards will begin to attack. Also, if a citizen sees you stealing form their chest, they will alert the guards, yet again sending them to attack.

END!
Well this ends another blog by me! So good luck to the other contestants in this contest! Peace!
