First, tune your guitar to E Standard tuning.

Parts Of Your Guitar
Parts:
Headstock - The top (head) of any guitar
Pickups - Used for amplifying the sound through an amplifier. They are always found in electric guitars, but you can buy separate ones to stick in the bodies of acoustic guitars.
Body - The main part of any guitar.
Neck - Connects the headstock with your body and contains the frets and fretboard.
Fretboard - Where you put your finger(s) to make a note or chord.
Nut - Strings passing from the knobs are pressed against this to bring the strings straight down the fretboard to the bridge.
Tuning Pegs - Used for tuning your strings.
Toggle Switch - Used to toggle between your pickups for different sounds, can be used as a 'killswitch' if you turn the volume of a pickup down to 0 and toggle between your pickup that is on and the one that is off.
Bridge - Where your strings end on the body of the guitar.
Fret - Raised metal strip that are spread across the fretboard.
