Welp... that is what most of you would prefer in a game such as Minecraft.
fortunately, the development team is always working on new versions and new snapshots. Unfortunatly this usually takes a lot more time to be released.
Also, things like chairs or tables or even real style pillars will never really be developed. It just does not seem to happen.
However, if you are like me and just want these features in your game, (do mind you have to go back to 1.9)

10paktimbits has created for several versions (all the way up to 1.9) of the game a decoration pack which adds a ridicilous amount of new content for you to play with.

blocks are added like:
-Chairs.
-Tables.
-Cabinets.
-Boxes.
-Chimney accessories.
-Kitchen accessories.
-Etc.

In short way to much for me to spell it all out for you.
Honestly I would recommend this mod for every Minecraft fanatic who just loves building and personalizing their own worlds.
