This day started off with me getting ready as if I was going to school, then spending the morning writing War on the Nether chapter 5. Then, me and my mom took a cab to Duncan’s, went up to his apartment, which is where she dropped me off.

For the next hour and a half, we did some stuff. In the beginning, Duncan showed me his Minecraft handbooks, and a magazine detailing all the new 1.20 features up until the mob head stuff. Then, he loaded MCPE and showed me his skins and a world he made with six factions going to war. After that, Duncan hopped on MC and waited in the 2b2t que. In the meantime, we each looked at Minecraft texture packs. I showed him @Parzival_ (on mobile right now) on MCPEDL, and several pages of his Bedrock ports. Duncan found the Java versions of a few of them, but I got nervous when he went on PMC (he doesn’t have an account) to find the Java version of the Blaze Dragonfly Elytra texture pack. Eventually, while scrolling through Parzival’s ports, I came across the Origin Realms polar bear and crocodile texture pack, and introduced Duncan to Origin Realms. I went on the website and found the IP, and while Duncan started playing on the server, I told him a little bit about SystemZee and the strata golem, warning him not to make a desert or badlands realm for fear that he might encounter it there. He died to the Great Hunger in a cave, which prompted me to tell him about the mob vote that doomed Minecraft by adding phantoms. When his mom came in and asked why he was playing MC, I covered for him by saying I wanted to see the server since I can’t join, so he was kind enough to join it so I could see the server. He played along with the lie, and, in 15 minutes, we left after Isaac arrived. (Midway through texture searching, he closed out the Minecraft window with 2b2t open. Also, Duncan’s laptop is making some weird sounds.)

Me, Duncan, Isaac, and Duncan’s mom met Grayson and his mom at the theater. (By the way, Julia wasn’t able to make it.: She left him with us and we made our way to the theater where we were watching Honor Among Thieves. We got snacks, at which point I revealed my mom left me with $60 (when I returned home, I had $54.61 in my pocket). I got a pack of watermelon Sour Patches, and the others got their snacks: Grayson got normal Sour Patches, Duncan got M&Ms, and Isaac got Airheads. We all shared our snacks (except Grayson). Throughout the movie, Duncan whispered to us about some of the creatures that were shown in the film. It was awesome.

Once the movie ended, we left the theater and got lunch at a diner nearby (by the way, the theater and diner were all within a few blocks of Duncan’s house). Everyone had a beef burger, but they were all different kinds. During lunch, we talked about D&D (such as new characters for the next campaign or when we die, the movie, and, when we finished eating, Duncan began reading and asking us a series of “Would You Rather?” questions. My mom and Isaac’s grandma came to pick their respective kids up, and after lunch, we all went our separate ways: Duncan and his mom walked Grayson home, me and my mom went to get her new glasses, and Isaac probably went home with his grandma. (Also, fun fact: Honor Among Thieves was translated into Yiddish, which Isaac’s grandma is fluent in.)

Of course, when I got home, I opened PMC to see what I missed, shared a post about trans people, got into an argument, and saw my best friend leave the site. So this day basically went from 👍 to 💩 (great to sh*t).

Think of this as a special between two seasons a show. Also, the next D&D Club session is going to be on April 29th, so I guess that’s the season 2 premiere date.
