Hello, my name is Diamonddozen and welcome to DiamondBlog: Doing things the WRITE way!

Recently, I bought myself a little present. This present was a PS4. I figured I would do a First Thoughts on some game, and I felt this was the best. Considering the contest that happened to be going on (truthfully, I was going to do a First Thoughts of this before I even knew of the contest). My game of choice is The Lego Movie Videogame the Book the Sequel the Show the Lego kit the Game!
The Story
The Story is nothing special. If you have seen the Lego Movie you'll know the story right there. Absolutely nothing changes; in fact, the game even uses some of the movie's actual scenes in their game. This makes me slightly mad, because my PS4 can not record those scenes, because it is "blocked". I'm willing to guess that this is because of copyright and such; however, this is not a huge deal, as I honestly never use that feature anyway.

There are also a few parts of the game that make it very easy to identify it as a Lego game. I have not played a Lego game since the Wii was still relevant, and I can honestly say that nothing has changed, except the graphics are a little better. There are unlockable characters that you have to buy, you can change the characters, you can build things out of Lego (although in this game that makes sense, because of the whole "Master Builder" thing), and there is a main hub area that you can select your missions. That makes everything simple, but it also very monotonous.

The Gameplay
More or less, the controls on the PS4 are: press square to hit things, press circle to build things, and press triangle to pick a different character. It's very simple, which makes it very fun. I'm not the kind of guy that likes to challenge himself to often, and since this is an opinion-based review, I can say that it's fun for me, but maybe not for others. You would have to decide that yourself.

One thing that does change from other Lego games is that only the female characters can jump high. I found this to be very odd, unless that was something that actually happened in the movie. I'm sure this little add-on will make feminists happy.

The Graphics
I've already touched a little on the graphics. Like I said they are better than the Wii, but that is mainly just because you are switching from 480p to 1080p, on the PS4 anyway. Those 600 extra P's really don't make that much of a difference. The good thing is, this game is not meant to be a beautiful thing to look at. It's meant for the children at heart (and the actual children) who want to play a game based on a really good movie. Also, how great can the graphics get, when it's just basically Minecraft with a bit more circles and a storyline.

That was the most in-depth My First Thoughts I think I've ever written, but that's good. It means my blogging is getting better. Or that I actually played a reasonable enough amount of the game this time...or maybe, it's just because I was rambling.
Anyway, please don't forget to diamond if you like this blog, favourite if you loved it, and subscribe if you want to see some more!
