Sometimes, it amazes me what I can imagine. I visualize rodents becoming warriors, a man who wishes to free animal cyborgs of their cybernetic restraints, and a lupine superhero with highly-advanced mech suits. To think that someone like me, a teenage girl with social anxiety beyond belief, would have these ideas spring from her brain. But then I open my eyes and look around, and the answer is as clear as day. Inspiration surrounds me and fills every crevice it can find, so that it may pounce upon me when I least expect it. Yet, it is still obvious where most of my inspiration lurks, and I smile at each one of them every day.

As a young child, I would never join the children who were chasing each other on the playground or playing soccer in the fields. It was no use trying to play with them, as they would only bully me for having ADD or that I was a crybaby. I was too shy to face them, so I sat in the shade of the trees and drew in a torn journal, not allowing anyone to see me cry. Yet one day, I felt something upon my shoulder. Someone was trying to get my attention. They asked me about my drawings and what games I liked to play. It felt odd for someone to approach me like this, as if I was a normal kid. I looked up at the stranger and smiled. At that moment, I was filled with a sort of courage and mustered enough of it to join the other student to play. The girl gladly accepted and invited her other friends to join us. At that moment, we became friends, an idea I had little experience in. But this other girl and her group of friends would have much more of an impact on my life than just emotional support. Every time I create a character, they are always so familiar, like I had already met them. I will then remember that day and the friends I have, and realize that have simply created them as a character in my work. But there are other people in my life that still have the same indelible mark on my writing.

I would consider it rude not to include my family and the teachers who have taught me to use my talents to their fullest potential. My parents always supported me, even when I thought the worst had come. They have pushed me across boundaries I wouldn't dare cross on my own, such as standing up to my bullies and my own social anxiety. I am not an only child, as my younger siblings have done much to spark my imagination in their own way. My little sister was always one to provide tough love and the fuel to try harder. She might look innocent at first glance, but she can get real tough when she wants to. If I ever get stuck on how tough a character should be, I just imagine her. That solves the problem real quick. But no one has toyed with my inspiration more than my younger brother. Our relationship was built upon video games and pranking my little sister, so he was bound to act similar to me. Yet he is a natural leader and speaks his mind, while all I could do at his age was watch quietly. He is so much like me, but also completely different. Right now, I'm actually teaching him more about literature, as his skills in writing are improving. I also admire the many teachers I've had opening me up to the powers that I wield. I know it's their job, but I think they've done more for me than what they are being paid to do. I could go on and on about the people in my life that inspire me to dream on each day, but I cannot sit at this computer for that long.

There are many other places where my inspiration hides, such as in the video games I play and the movies I watch. But those are only mere sparks that sputter out over time. I rely on the people I see everyday to give me ideas, and the system works quite well for me. My inspiration floods through my brain like a great tidal wave, flooding my ideas with much needed life. And I'm happy to say that it will not stop for a long time.

So that's that. This is my entry for DoomDestroyer98's blog contest. If you're interested in joining, look at the thread where the rules for the contest are set. Until the next blog, see you next time!
