Recently Minecraft creator Markus "Notch" Persson tweeted a screen grab of a menu option that is sure to make dedicated Minecraft fans lose sleep.
The tweet contained no words, just the simple image shown below, which reveals a "Hardcore" option for the game that will delete your entire game world if you die.
The procedurally generated, one-of-a-kind worlds are one of the biggest draws of Minecraft, along with the ability to sculpt that world to your liking. The threat of losing all of that upon death should make surprise encounters with Creepers all the more terrifying.
Notch also tweeted a follow-up image of an Ultra Hardcore option, which is worth a chuckle:
Hopefully that one doesn't make it into the game.
