Recently tried to make a 400x400 pixel art, and it didn't go so well. I outlined the area using worldedit, and using all my various render options I couldn't get 400x400 pixels loaded into one frame. I can't compete with the classic minecraft pixel artists anymore because I can't render 1024x1024 areas instantly like they can. lol. This is just a bit of a dead end I've hit. Has anyone else run into this issue?

you could try using some other software to render it on. For example chunky and cinema 4D. There are also others but I cant remember them. They allow you to render large areas, which normally wouldn't load minecraft.
