THE GOOD
Owning a server can always be fun. As long as you know what your doing. It also fun if you have the right plugins and the right staff. Getting players is easy with the many sites there are where you can post YOUR server. I can sometimes be boring flying around in creative all day long while watching people. So play in survival with other players for a while get to know them. When you do this is causes a relationship with your players and thats a really good thing to have because they will tell there friends and then you can have more players and more players until you build the perfect player base.
THE BAD
Now yes owning a server can be bad sometimes. When people log on they always want to be op and all this great stuff. Telling them no is not that easy because they can spread so much stuff about your server on the internet its not even funny. When people apply for admin or mod make sure you do a background check on them using mcbans and check other places. If someone is an admin and they abuse their power do not give them warnings take it away ASAP.
HOW CAN I OWN A SERVER
Many different ways of owning a server. You can pay a monthly bill by having a company host your server for you. Or you if you have an extra desktop computer that preferably is a PC running Windows that no one uses host it off if that. It is free and is really great plus you dont have to worry about donations it is easy as 1,2,3.
