You go onto a site, and suddenly you see something familiar, something you made. But there's a difference. A small, crudely made and highly visible difference. Maybe the eyes are changed? Is it an asissan now? Or maybe a metaal goblin? Or even better, a goblin girl.
That's what has happened to my Gollum skin. It has blown up in popularity among the children. They just love it. It's so detailed, it's like sorcery to them. So instead of trying to make it themselves, they change what has already been made.
This is just so funny, I can't really wrap my head around it- It's as if someone started worshipping something you sneezed out. Somewhere, there is probably a youtuber using a plagiarized version of my Gollum. And he has a server. On that server, there are dozens of players, all wearing ''goblin'' skins. None of them questioning the existence of an original creator. For all they know, the skin magically came into existence when the internet was first formed. I mean, why would they care? It's not as if anyone has time to police their activities.
Here are some honourable mentions, and in true plagiarist spirit I'll rename them:
Update! I now know why this all happened! Thanks to PMC member stralus I found out that the catalyst behind this skin's popularity is none other than Dutch youtuber DagelijksHaaDee. The video above was made by him in 2013, and first now I'm finding out about it. Thank you very much.
