All texture packs nowadays are loosely based on another, which is fine. What annoys me however, is this urge to create RPG Texture Packs that are either similar to Dokucraft or SMPo s or to just recreate Discoo s fantastic OCDpack but by changing the colours. Cano t you texture pack makers do something original?

The reason that the OCDPack by disco_ is so popular is because at the time no texture pack existed that had that very simplistic feel, same with Dokucraft and SMPo s. The LB Realism Texture Pack is the most downloaded texture pack ever. Why? Well again, it was the one of its kind when it came out and no texture pack truly matches its awesome detail.

It is difficult I understand to create a texture pack that is purely original but if you are a talented artist who can come up with the most fantastic of ideas then Io m sure you can come up with an original, attractive and approachable texture pack. Try a new style of texture pack, one that no one would dare to do and that is probably very risky. If you do that, maybe then will you become famous and known for your texture pack and not just become another RPG texture pack. Dono t get me wrong, all these RPG Packs are fantastic and I couldno t do any better but if you want to really stand out then like I said, be daring and outrageous like disco_ was with his OCD pack.
