Now that I've done a rant on all of the server types I find overrated (And it was really popular,) I will make a blog about my favorites. So, here is my positivity towards: my favorite server types!

Now, this DOES NOT MEAN that server owners should start making too many of these types of servers. Then, I'd get sick of it, and stop liking them.

The first type of servers I'd like to mention are Social Servers. These are the servers that have no emphasis on survival, and instead have a bigger emphasis on socializing. These could be chatrooms instead of Minecraft servers if they wanted to, but then we'd lose all of the beautiful and/or AWESOME scenery. Seriously, you don't even have to CHAT to enjoy a social server! Also, some have the hunger meter enabled, and allow mining, so there's still some gameplay. I like this when I want to text-roleplay, so overall, Social servers are nice when you want something more laid back.

Next, it's Minigame Servers. These are servers you can go on and play minigames on. Aside from the amount of them that have Hunger Games, Skyblock, and sometimes even..*ugh* FACTIONS, I love these servers. Any server that has the three that I don't like, they usually have plenty of good ones too. My favorite minigames are Super MineKart, Bow Spleef, TNT Bomber, and many many more. Since I don't have any way of playing minigames otherwise, so these servers are a must-play for me. Overall, Minigame Servers are a great way for people to play games made on a game that is somewhat good for making certain types of games.

Now, let's get into survival! Player Versus Environment (PvE) servers are next! PvE is kind of like Single Player, but friends can help you out, and most of the time, it's a custom map, especially designed for PvE. You may argue that PvE has no competitive aspect to it, which is when I bring in mining. I don't see as many PvE servers that have shops as PvP servers, so you are constantly racing for ores (Mostly in randomly generated PvE Servers.)

Lastly, I want to talk about Towny. I want to warn you first that my knowledge of Towny is a bit rusty, from not playing on Towny since 1.5 (due to server shutdowns.) Towny is a plugin that lets players build their own towns. Players can then live in said towns. I like to live in well-built towns as opposed to new towns, because I love killing mobs in said towns. I don't know why I love it, but I do. There are Towny PvP Servers, and Towny PvE Servers. Me, preferring PvE over PvP, obviously like Towny PvE better, but it's obvious to like Towny PvP better if you like PvP better than PvE. It is kind of easy to screw up a Towny server, though. Terrible builds will ruin Towny before any other kind of servers. Also, there's anything else that will screw up a server. The only Towny servers I can think of that I didn't like aside from terrible builds, terrible staff and moderators, or using MCBans (That's my next rant) are ones that used Towny and Factions (But a lot of people do like this,) and Creative Towny (I'm not explaining this, but I've seen it.)

So, these are the server types I like. If you like Factions, or other cliche server types, I'm fine, but you may find yourself bored. also, if you don't like these server types, remember that this is my opinion before you comment.

Do you know of any good PvE servers that you like to play on? If so can you post the IP? I'd love to check some of the towny PvE and just regular survival PvE servers out.
