Hi guys, Greytopher here with another blog. I know I posted one four hours ago, but this can't wait, as it's still on my mind. I want to talk about posting content for the love of it, not because you have to.

Posting What You Love...

No matter what website you upload to, Planet Minecraft, Youtube, or whatever, don't let that popularity mumbo jumbo get to your head. Recently, I've been posting my Medieval Houses Series, and I've been getting a lot of weird responses from it. I've been talking with some of my friends, and I got questions like "They're not getting popular, why are you uploading them?"

All I could do was stare at my screen, somewhat not believing what they just said. All I could think about is how people WANT to get popular, and upload for hopes of getting popular. This somewhat sickens me that people would do this; although getting 'known' is nice, and having a lot of subscribers is a cool add-on, that's not the point. The point of this being, is to upload things because you love it. Not because of being popular.

I post my Medieval Houses Series only to get less than 100 views. So what? I love doing this, it's making me get back into building and it's a sad excuse for my next project but that's beside the point! It has also opened a new door for me; as uploading Youtube videos is actually really fun. I could care less about getting popular, since that's not the point. I want to care about uploading quality things that I'm proud of. Think about it this way: When you post things, you post for quality. Although it may not get popular, you're proud of what you make, and what you do. But, as a little bonus, it gets on the popular reel. Think of getting on the popular reel a bonus. Don't stop uploading good things because you're desprate to get on there again.

Posting Because You Have To?

Watching people post something after they've hit the reel is actually really interesting. That first post that got popular versus the ones after that TRUELY show how someone can handle something. If they post crap things, but have a couple 100 subscribers shows that they aren't dedicated to the website, and are only in it for the popularity. But, even if someone doesn't get popular, but they post awesome things, they deserve to be up there. I've seen many people, many of my friends, who were low levels, but uploaded the best content I could ever see, finally hit that one post, and do you know what? They proceeded to do the same exact thing after that, and they're continuously growing.

I've seen people post just to post, which is quite sad in a sense. They post that one blog that's so amazing, then they post things that utterly don't make sense. They're in a desperate need of that fame again, not because they love their subscribers, or they love what content they put out. For me, if I don't love my content, I usually don't post. I don't want to waste my time nor disappoint my subscribers with an act of desperation. The moral of the story is: don't post because you have to, post because you want to. Love the work you put out, don't feel forced!

"Don't create something because you want to be popular. Create it because you love what you do" - Steelfeathers (with thanks from Bethamez for showing me the quote)

I completely agree. I continue to post my skins even if I don't get many views or responses for them, because I want to and like to. I like making skins that I want to play as but have never been done (because it's not an idea many people care about, for example) and then being happy with the results. That's why I skin and why I actually give effort to what I do, even if my effort goes unnoticed.

I was reading this blog while listening to this music... I realized listening to a certain music for a certain blog helps the "mood" of it. Maybe have a recommended song at the top of your blog so the reader can get a "feel?" anyways, thanks.

I post because I enjoy making skins, although, in one of oliverfrenchie's blogs, which was about 'Doing it for the Fun, not for the Popularity' or something like that, and it is a human instinct to always crave recognition just slightly. I enjoy making skins, but I want to become popular, as everyone does, to meet more people and make new friends, although I am in this because I enjoy making skins, everyone has that little bit inside them craving recognition. :)

I post because I love to, I know it will be nice to be on the reel, I actually want to be on the reel, but I'm not posting poopy stuff just to quickly get there.
A question: is it bad if I want more views? I like just posting stuff I made because they give joy to me and I hope they give joy to others, but sometimes I feel like my hard work is just falling into a deep pit abyss part of PMC to be never seen again. Sometimes I even feel like this
Me: ALRIGHT! THE "blog/skin/etc" IS DONE!
God or Bad Luck or whatever: NOPE! *takes my work and picks up poop with it*
Me: T.T
I may be exaggerating, and probably am, but is it bad if I want more views than I have now?

I don't think its bad to want popularity, I mean it's really the point of posting, but it's a matter of souly posting for that reason. And if you're not doing that, then I think you're fine. :P
