Hello, everyone at Planet Minecraft!

My name is Thomas. I'm the owner of Uniblue Media and creator of the texture pack, "R3D.CRAFT". I've been working on this texture pack for one year now and due to recent events, this blog was created to inform you about a situation that have occurred a couple of days ago.

...but before I begin to explain about what happened, here's an explanation on what R3D.CRAFT is, copied from my original thread at MinecraftForum:

R3D.CRAFT, pronounced "Red Craft" or "R-3-D Craft", is a high quality texture pack that can be applied to the game, Minecraft. Based on the default texture that belongs to this game, R3D.CRAFT tries to bring more realization, with high quality textures, smoother gradients and shadows, artificial lighting, small details or new details + so much more.

Here's the original thread at MinecraftForum: Click here!

Before I say anything more, because I know some of you who are interested are wondering about it... NO, R3D.CRAFT is NOT cancelled. I'm still working on it, and as far as I can tell, my works quality is only progressing.

WHAT HAVE HAPPENED?
R3D.CRAFT does not longer exist on this site. The very reason for why R3D.CRAFT does no longer exist on this site is because it was deleted on behalf of the moderators decision, because it did, without me knowing about it, conflict with the site rules. It is described as a "filtered texture pack" which means a texture that uses the original Minecraft textures as base, and remake it/create textures that overlays with it (somewhere in that direction I believe). In this case, R3D.CRAFT is using original Minecraft textures as base, which is reasonable due to the concept of the whole pack.

Now, it is a shame that it went a whole year before the moderators acted, but I should also be grateful they let it stay here for so long. It helped me build a group of people who follows my work (maybe you :3), and because of you who have given feedback and shown appreciation for my work, I've been feeling this pack is worth the amount of work I added and are currently adding into it. So I guess I should thank the moderators. Thanks!

WHAT HAPPENS NOW?
As stated above, R3D.CRAFT will continue and expand. I have never had any intentions on abandoning this pack, and I won't do it now either. Too much work and love has been put into this pack. I'm not letting that go.

R3D.CRAFT will defiantly not stay here, as it's conflicting with the site rules. This means that if you want to keep following my work, I suggest you to follow R3D's fanpage at facebook, which currently almost have 2000 followers (link below). This is a place where I also upload exclusive previews of upcoming textures. The people who follows me so far, seem to appreciate that a lot.

R3D.CRAFT will still be updated at MinecraftForum, and I will begin to use Curse as well (you should check out Curse, if you haven't).

One thing that will involve PlanetMinecraft, is something called "R3D.CRAFT: Smooth Realism". This is a new version I'm working on. The current version is "R3D.CRAFT: Default Realism". The smooth version will not use the default Minecraft texture as a base texture. It will rather try to really realize the very shape and form of it, and the texture and colors as well. So far, it looks something like this: Image link!

So that's it for now. I'm sorry that this happen, if this made it more difficult for you to stay in touch with R3D, here, at this place, but we do have to respect the site rules. Please don't accuse them for anything. I don't want some kind of war on behalf of my texture.

I hope you will still enjoy R3D.CRAFT as much has you did when it was here. A new update will come out when Minecraft 1.5 comes out! :D

EDIT: R3D.CRAFT has now updated to Minecraft Redstone Update 1.5! Links below.

Something i find to be quite frustrating about this pack is that the guy just won't finish it. The birch wood is not there, the swords, tools, and bow are all fucked up, lots of missing textures, and lots of sadness. This texture pack has gotten so much attention over the couple years it has been out, and it is a shame that the creator, Thomas Angeland just won't finish it. I REALLY want to use this pack, but i do not want to use something that is incomplete.

Whats done is done, no matter how much we bicker about, the powers that be wont change their minds.
It all boils done to one thing, their jealous plain and simple. Their jealous because they couldn't think of something like that themselves, and their jealous because it beats the pants off anything they could ever do. Basically people who think like this have an I.Q. less then a soap dish. But don't hate them pitty them.

Mods just wondering if this was a mis judgement If you read rule 7.1.2 part 2 says ''You must change a significant portion of the work'' and uniblue has changed a significant portion of this work. Another statement in this rule is ''The general rule of thumb is that if it is not very obvious that the creation is different, the item is not allowed'' I can easily tell this is different. I know part 1 of rule 7.1.2 says you have to ask for permission to use someone's else's work as a template. Well let's just say that uni blue recreated minecraft textures then did what he did then that's not at all copying. You should ask uniblue his methods to truly know if it infringes on any of the rules.

I use R3DCRAFT 256x all the time! i love it, even if its not finished youve still done an amazing job at it, cant wait until smooth edition comes out! btw, just a tip from a user. The way youve textured the water should be changed to how it looks like in the item "water bucket" because it looks more realistic

Thats very interesting, that they letting you have it on PMC for like 1-2 years, and then suddenly just remove it. Very interesting.........

Too bad it's removed, but as you said pretty logical too...
Because I can't be the only one who dislikes 'better glass' and 'smooth default' texture packs.

Without this rule, the site would be one, big chaos.

Still, one of the most popular texture packs being removed is a little too much, maybe there should be a rule with 'over 10000 downloads no delete' or something like that, because it does seem to be quite popular by then...

And I do have some (not that much, but still) experience with choosing to keep or deleting/removing/banning something.
